Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “First off, I’m not a daily coffee drinker, more like a once or twice a week after dinner coffee drinker, I drink it for the flavor more than a ‘have to’ kind of thing. That being said, I need to have great tasting coffee. I have quite the collection of different coffee making apparatuses, from simple stainless steel pour overs (surprisingly tasty coffee comes from those), to French presses, a couple of different cold brew devices, a couple of different Moka pots, and an AeroPress. I also tend to grind my own beans. I love making coffee in each of these coffee making devices, but at this time, my absolute favorite is the Oxo Rapid Brewer. I find it makes pretty good coffee, and the ease of use and cleanup afterward is also a major perk. Even though I really enjoy coffee in all of my other coffee devices, I have been known to want a cup of coffee but chose to not make it only because of the fact that it was either going to take too much time/effort to get it set up and/or the cleanup afterward. Enter the Oxo Rapid brewer. I love the fact that it can make hot or cold brew, and the cold brew takes only a few more minutes than the hot. I have been experimenting with adding a dash of cinnamon to the coffee bed before tamping, I’m going to try cocoa powder next. One thing I do that is a bit extra, since I have an AeroPress, I have lots of those paper filters for it, I do use one in my Oxo Rapid brewer, only to make it easier to clean out and it helps keep the metal filter from getting clogged. I don’t know for a fact that it will get clogged, I’m only going by past experience with stainless steel pour over devices, they have a very fine metal filter and eventually the very fine coffee grounds do slow the coffee from going through. I am doing this in a preemptive manner. I also reuse the paper filter a few times, I did that with the AeroPress (don’t judge) and it works just fine, I rinse it and reuse it a few times with no issues. If I remember correctly, the maker of the AeroPress said in an experiment to see how many uses he could get from one, he got 100 uses out of 1 paper filter, I wouldn’t go that far, but I see nothing wrong with reusing it a few times. Back to the regularly scheduled program, I find that the Oxo Rapid brewer works great for me, it makes tasty coffee, it’s easy to use, easy to learn, easy to clean. It makes a concentrate which I use for a larger cup of coffee, I like to add either half and half or milk, some water and a bit of maple syrup for sweetness. I have found it makes just the right amount for me, but if need be I could share or since it brews so quickly, I could easily make 2 batches back to back. It doesn’t leak, it makes more than enough for me, the unit feels sturdy, I’m not concerned about dropping it. Cleaning it is a breeze, I just knock out the coffee grounds, rescuing the paper filter, I rinse everything and let it dry in my dish drain. It is super stealthy too, no worries about disturbing anyone if I decide I want a quick cupper in the middle of the night. My only ‘issue’ is I purchased a few bottles of coffee concentrate just before ordering this, it’s hard to decide which I want to use, I am going to have to make myself use up my coffee concentrate (I don’t want to waste them, they are good too). I am enjoying using this method to make my own coffee concentrate, maybe I’ll hang on to one of the empty bottles and refill it with the brewed coffee concentrate. If you are on the fence about buying this, don’t be, it’s worth it, the price is right and the method is fun and makes a tasty brew.”

Customer Review: “We have an expensive coffee and espresso maker. However, for flavor and for mouth-feel, the little OXO makes better coffee. The process is straightforward, and it doesn’t require precise proportions of coffee to water to make great coffee. Small and light-weight, it cleans up easily. Would I buy it again? Yes. Reasonably priced? Yes – actually, its price is so reasonable, I doubted that it could be this good. I’ve used it for months, including camping, and it looks like new. This beats my AeroPress in so many ways.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I have several OXO products and they are typically well-made, effective at what they are designed to do and very easy to use. Have to admit that at this point, if I need a kitchen gadget, I’ll almost always default to the OXO product, if I have an option. I’ve been making cold brew for a couple of years now, using a 64 ounce mason jar and that method works well, though it has some issues. I’d been eyeing this cold brew coffee maker for a while and when I saw it on sale, I went for it. After only one time using it, I can already say it’s worth the purchase. Very easy to set up and use. Very well-designed, as is typical with OXO products. Very easy to clean, which was always a pain with the mason jar and its relatively narrow mouth. And the coffee tastes great! The best part is eliminating the filtering process that usually took a good 15 minutes or so with my old method. With this maker, I just flip the switch, go away and turn on my computer and in 10 minutes I come back to a carafe full of tasty coffee. No more struggling with the dumping of the liquid through the filter, while trying to avoid splattering huge chunks of wet grounds all over the kitchen counter. I’d noticed that my acid reflux was definitely not as active and pronounced when I drank cold brew coffee rather than hot coffee and I’m pretty much sold on moving forward with cold brew from this point on. Very happy I finally made the purchase and, as noted before, very happy to have stuck with another solid OXO product.”

Customer Review: “Husband loves cold brew and bought this for him as a Christmas present. It’s easy to use and he loves it. I like the pot, reminds me a a chemistry lab beaker. Doesn’t take up too much counter space.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is exactly what I was looking for; an easy way to make fresh delicious coffee without any mess that is consistent every day. We have a Keurig, but to me the coffee just doesn’t taste good. The Keurig does brew coffee quickly, but if it doesn’t taste good, then what’s the point? This pour-over system is very easy to use, it fits my coffee cup perfectly, it makes it easy to dispose of the grounds, and clean up is a breeze. It’s also very light (its plastic) so if you wanted to take it with you traveling you definitely could. I think for the price and the value you get, especially the great taste, this is the way to go. You can buy ground coffee on sale at the grocery store for 1/3 the price of K cups. In the end, taste is the most important factor to me, and while pour over brewing does take a few minutes longer than using a Keurig, it’s definitely worth the time.”

Customer Review: “Bought this to replace my Stanley pour over. It works a lot better imo. No more tapping the pour over in the garbage and having used coffee grinds everywhere and still needing to rinse out some in the sink. The filters keep the grinds in one place and out of my coffee another plus over the Stanley. If you are looking to get a great single serving of fresh ground coffee look no further. It makes up to 12 ounces of fresh hot coffee in about 3 minutes. Cleaning is a breeze and no more expensive k cups that just don’t taste like real brewed coffee imo. The design is clean and easy to use with clear markings on the drip bowl. It sits perfectly on top of my 14 oz yeti rambler.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “There is an issue with Cold Brew nowadays. Namely – there is a quickly closing gap in between the taste & value of homemade versus store bought. See back in the long long ago, the only place you could get cold brew was that hipster coffee shop near downtown (the one with the good music and the tip jar with the funny sign). Other than that, you had no choice but to make it yourself, and because of its lack of prevalence, you basically wound up making some super janky Toddy Style system with a Home Depot bucket and some cheesecloth because you didn’t know what you were doing. Now, all of that is different. Cold brew has entered the general population and has surged in popularity (with good reason!) There does lie a problem though. People assume, just like traditionally brewed coffee, that its much much cheaper to make it at home. While this is true to an extent, its not nearly the cost benefit that you would see from making a pot at home versus a $3.50 macchiato from the green and white mermaid lady. The other issue is that hot coffee at home is dead simple; add water, add a filter, add grounds, push a button. Cold brew is simple, but not that simple. This leads to the biggest issue with cold brew – making it at home is kinda a hassle, no matter what fancy infusion system you’ve got, and the big boys at the supermarket selling gallons of clear, filtered, smooth cold brew right next to the cream cheese and orange juice do a pretty good job of it. Lets do some math. This cold brew system costs $30, which is pretty negligible assuming you use it for more than a few weeks. The real cost comes in the form of grounds. This system takes 6oz of ground coffee, and 24 oz of water at a time to make “5 to 7 servings”. I have NEVER once drawn seven full servings out of it. Maybe if you’re sensitive to caffeine or the size of a house cat you’ll get the full seven, but I almost always get five, sometimes four if I’m being greedy. I buy mid-tier plebeian level coffee in 12 oz bags for $6.50. That means each brew with this system uses $3.25 worth of ground coffee, and generates five servings – meaning each serving is 65 cents a piece (not counting cream and sugar or whatever other shenanigans you add to your drink). Thats not bad. 65 cents is cheap and over the course of a year having two cups a day would mean you only spend $474.50 in grounds. You can spend that much at Starbucks in about 130 days on just one drink alone, or about 1.5 college mid terms worth (1.1 if you’re a STEM Major) Now if you just say “eh” to it all, and buy pre-made cold brew, a reputable brand sells 32 oz of concentrate for $8.99 (lets say $9). Both the OXO and this pre-made brand recommend diluting 1 part concentrate to 2 parts milk or water, so their strength is about equal. If 24oz from the OXO is 5 servings, 32oz is 6.6 servings. Meaning the pre-made is $1.30 per serving. If you had the exact same amount of coffee from the pre-made, you would spend $949 over the course of the year. Now a difference of $470 or so over the course of a year sounds significant, and to many it is, but consider you’ll spend $30 the first year on the OXO as well. Is $440 over an entire year worth it to you? Maybe. Is the amount of time wrangling grounds, waiting for steeping, filtering, and then enjoying worth that amount of time? It really depends on you, but it is something to consider. My review of the OXO is this: if you have a very SPECIFIC coffee in mind that you want to turn into cold brew, get it. Buying pre-made means you’re at the mercy of whatever beans that company chooses, whereas when you make it yourself you get total control. That total control does come at a cost though. Grinding your own beans, waiting for infusion, and filtering all takes a certain amount of time. In my case, the built in metal mesh filter does not do a perfect job of removing sediment, and I often find myself running the concentrate through a paper filter afterwards in order to get it all. Every pre-made concentrate will be basically 100% sediment free. As well, using the wrong grounds, or grinding the coffee too fine will make the draining process slow to a crawl, as the filter gets completely clogged. Making sure your grounds are nice and chunky will help this, but if you buy pre-ground get ready to get sludgy. Do I love this product? Yes. Would I buy it again if it broke? No. Its got a good Aesthetic (TM) and that’s about it. The big Toddy filters that places like Starbucks and whatnot use are ugly as sin, but work wonders. The traditional cold brew infusion bottles and jars (the ones with the mesh filters that sit in a big bottle of water) do alllllright, but are big and leave sediment all over the place do alllllright, but are big and leave sediment all over the place. This is somewhere in between the two, and doesn’t have the full pros of either, but doesn’t sacrifice everything for design. I want you to be happy. I want you to drink great coffee that energizes and invigorates you. If having a neat little bottle with a cork top in your fridge makes you happy, go for it. If you just have to make cold brew yourself – I would recommend a Toddy system. If you just enjoy the taste of cold brew, buy it pre-made from one of those big corporate overlord brands.”

Customer Review: “I have been using this for over a year and cannot imagine going back to any other way of brewing. It is simple, inexpensive, compact, and produces fabulous coffee. The coffee is so great that I take a flask of it with me when I go to restaurants for breakfast. I then order hot water for tea and pour my concentrate in with milk and stevia. I cannot go back to any other brewed coffee as that is bitter and acrid and acidic. This produces clean bright coffee that allows you to enjoy instead of puckering your lips. Using this device is simple and I would watch any of the videos to learn how easy it is to brew. I find for me the metal filter is great and I do not use the paper filters. The idea is to get out the particles that invade other coffee brewers and cause the acid taste. I think that it uses a lot of grinds and felt this could be cost prohibiting, but then I am not an aficionado and went with my regular grocery store generic brand (I use Maxwel House) and the result is great. I am sure that using beter coffee or grinding my own, or getting coarse grind coffee would produce an even greater coffee but for me and my daily 2-4 cups this is fabulous. I did see that there is a newer version that is larger and more expensive, but it has more features that would be nice (like a handle, a top that give you some idea of how much coffee to pour per cup, a marked carafe that shows how much water you should add, etc. I am toying with getting another carafe as it would be nice to brew before the carafe is empty as I let mine brew for a minimum of 24 hours and sometimes more than 48 hours. However just knowing how much water to add will do the same as the brewer only needs the carafe to empty. I am playing with that now and just use a measuring cup and it produces the same great tasting product, not weaker. One last thing, If you are in a restaurant or coffee shop and you see a guy with a flask pouring something into his coffee cup please do not think it is some alcoholic. It is just me enjoying the delicious fruits of this coffee maker!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “It’s a great product. Simple well built easy to use. I’ve only used it twice. First I tasted the coffee at different times. four hours, 6, 8, 12, 24. To see the difference that made. I didn’t like any of it. In fact I couldn’t drink it and threw it all out. Not the coffee makers fault. I just don’t like cold brew. It even makes me feel sick. I drink decaf for the flavor of it. I like a deep rich coffee flavor. I like a medium roast sweet coffee bean espresso. Cold brew just doesn’t taste anything like that. It has its own taste which is very mild and smooth or flavorless depending on your attitude. But it does extract more caffeine from the beans even my decaf beans made coffee too caffeinated for me. It also extracted some other stuff from the beans my espresso maker doesn’t having a totally different effect on that I didn’t like. I recommend trying cold brew before getting into making it yourself but my coffee shop doesn’t have decaf cold brew so I had to buy this to see for myself. If you like cold brew this is a great way to go. Aside from changing the time of the brew you can play around with adding paper filters inside the metal filter or filtering the coffee after its done but I didn’t mind the slight sludge on the bottom of my coffee cup. So the machine is simple easy to use works well easy to clean. Great if you like cold brew but it’s a completely different type of coffee.”

Customer Review: “I love this. It is not like pressing a button and coffee comes out, but cold brewing coffee is a bit of a process and should be, because it needs to sit for 12-24 hours. It is pretty easy to clean, simple to use, and the glass jar washes easily and does not stain. Coffee stains like a b….”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “After at least 100 batches of cold brew, I find the filters do exactly what they are supposed to…remove the fines from your cold brew concentrate. Initially, I found they clogged even though I use the most coarse setting on my burr grinder. The problem was me…I was gently stirring the brew mix 3 to 4 times over the course of its 24-hour cycle which loosened and created more fines and subsequently clogged the filter. Now, it’s 1 gentle stir about an hour into the cycle and let it be…no issues, it drains completely and the concentrate is delicious. OH, by the way, OXO.com sells them for $3.99 for Qty-50…just bought 4 more packs.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve had and used several times a week for 4.5 years. This is just an outstanding little set up. Easy to use and easy to clean (as long as you don’t let the coffee grinds dry in the filter). Really durable, great buy that makes excellent cold brew.”

Customer Review: “So I love tea, but I hate being warm. I’ve had a bunch of loose leaf tea just sitting in my cupboard throughout Summer because I didn’t want to drink something warm when it was already too hot in our house. From the first time I used this it immediately became a ‘why didn’t I buy this sooner?’ kind of thing. Now I always have tea either steeping or ready to drink. I’ve used it with both green and black teas, which have both been fantastic. Going to try a herbal chai tea next. The tea tastes perfect, exactly as it does with a perfectly steeped hot tea, but with cold brewing it somehow doesn’t get bitter when you leave the tea in too long, it stays perfect, so it’s even easier than brewing hot. And I get four large cups out of this, instead of 2 with my kettle. Went with Takeya specifically because I use one of their metal insulated water bottles daily, and love it. Same quality here. I kinda wish it was glass instead of plastic, but at least if I drop this it isn’t going to shatter on my feet. Drawbacks? If I’m being hyper-nitpicky, the way that the filter threads into the lid is kinda tricky. I usually have to try two or three times to get the threads lined up right. Can’t recommend this enough. One of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon in a long time.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I am beyond impressed with this 64 oz Mason Jar Cold Brew Coffee Maker! From the moment I opened it, I could tell the materials were high quality. The glass feels thick and durable, not flimsy at all, and the components fit together securely without leaking or feeling loose. It has that sturdy, well-made construction that instantly gives you confidence it’s going to last. Making cold brew with it was incredibly easy. Just add your grounds, pour in water (into the filter and over the grounds) let it steep, and you’re done. The filter does a fantastic job, smooth coffee, minimal gritty residue, and a clean, rich flavor every time. Cleaning is just as simple, which is a huge win for me. Everything rinses out easily, and the wide mouth makes it super convenient to wash thoroughly. No awkward scrubbing or trapped grounds. I may have thrown mine in the dishwasher! The 64 oz size is perfect for prepping multiple servings at once, which saves time during busy weeks. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, this is a high-quality, user-friendly cold brew maker that delivers exactly what it promises! Highly recommend! ☕️”

Customer Review: “5/12/25: UPDATE: The pot works fine. One thing drive me to using bad words. I said this before, but it is an irritant. They attached the handle to the lid. Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove your hand with each turn is frustrating. For someone new to what cold coffee brew represents, this is a good starter pot, or I frequently used pot. The instruction page presented a problem. Simple answer: go online and get detailed instructions on just how to make cold coffee. Now, the simple instructions manual is a fine reminder. Packaging handled the trip thru shipping very well. It is glass. It was double packed. There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter. The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I felt like this product deserved one. This is an excellent cold brew maker. It is very easy to use and has a great 1,200 mL capacity. The plastic construction is more versatile (less fragile) than other brewers made from glass. The filtration system eliminates the sludge that other brew systems leave. The packaging is very thoughtful – a scoop and sponge are included. The scoop is easily overlooked, but it is the perfect size to clean the used grounds out of the filter. The sponge is an unexpectedly useful form factor to help with cleaning. Hopefully the sponges can be ordered separately, since sponges don’t last forever. Some minor downsides: Cleaning is moderately easy, but the only component that is recommended for the dishwasher is the pitcher (which is also easiest to clean by hand). All of the other elements are recommended for hand washing, which doesn’t take long. The way the filter is configured, the pitcher will work most effectively if stored (at least for part of the brew cycle) on its side. However, there is a vent in the lid that is prone to leaking when the pitcher is stored on its side. Brewing upright can lead to the top grounds not getting exposed to water. Unfortunately, one of the pieces broke during routine use after a couple of months: the pitcher lid is attached with a couple of hinges that snap the lid into place on the pitcher. One of the hinge attachments broke. I contacted customer service and a replacement pitcher arrived four days later. I’d recommend being careful with these hinge attachments as they seem prone to break. At the same time, the customer service is very responsive and suggests that they take support of their products seriously.”

Customer Review: “I’ve tried making cold brew a couple different ways, most recently with Ball jars and a metal filter. This Maestri brewer does a better job than other methods I’ve tried. No coffee ground sludge in the bottom, easy to clean grounds out of the filter, and easy to pour liquid out of the pitcher without removing the filter / grounds. The brew is pretty strong and tastes great. I have found that sometimes air gets trapped in the pitcher when I’m filling it, and that can affect the brewing slightly. When this happens, the coffee grounds don’t seem to get fully saturated right away, so the brewing time takes longer. 24 hours of brew time seems to be the sweet spot for my taste preference, which is strong.”
