Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve had and used several times a week for 4.5 years. This is just an outstanding little set up. Easy to use and easy to clean (as long as you don’t let the coffee grinds dry in the filter). Really durable, great buy that makes excellent could brew.”

Customer Review: “So I love tea, but I hate being warm. I’ve had a bunch of loose leaf tea just sitting in my cupboard throughout Summer because I didn’t want to drink something warm when it was already too hot in our house. From the first time I used this it immediately became a ‘why didn’t I buy this sooner?’ kind of thing. Now I always have tea either steeping or ready to drink. I’ve used it with both green and black teas, which have both been fantastic. Going to try a herbal chai tea next. The tea tastes perfect, exactly as it does with a perfectly steeped hot tea, but with cold brewing it somehow doesn’t get bitter when you leave the tea in too long, it stays perfect, so it’s even easier than brewing hot. And I get four large cups out of this, instead of 2 with my kettle. Went with Takeya specifically because I use one of their metal insulated water bottles daily, and love it. Same quality here. I kinda wish it was glass instead of plastic, but at least if I drop this it isn’t going to shatter on my feet. Drawbacks? If I’m being hyper-nitpicky, the way that the filter threads into the lid is kinda tricky. I usually have to try two or three times to get the threads lined up right. Can’t recommend this enough. One of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon in a long time.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I have several OXO products and they are typically well-made, effective at what they are designed to do and very easy to use. Have to admit that at this point, if I need a kitchen gadget, I’ll almost always default to the OXO product, if I have an option. I’ve been making cold brew for a couple of years now, using a 64 ounce mason jar and that method works well, though it has some issues. I’d been eyeing this cold brew coffee maker for a while and when I saw it on sale, I went for it. After only one time using it, I can already say it’s worth the purchase. Very easy to set up and use. Very well-designed, as is typical with OXO products. Very easy to clean, which was always a pain with the mason jar and its relatively narrow mouth. And the coffee tastes great! The best part is eliminating the filtering process that usually took a good 15 minutes or so with my old method. With this maker, I just flip the switch, go away and turn on my computer and in 10 minutes I come back to a carafe full of tasty coffee. No more struggling with the dumping of the liquid through the filter, while trying to avoid splattering huge chunks of wet grounds all over the kitchen counter. I’d noticed that my acid reflux was definitely not as active and pronounced when I drank cold brew coffee rather than hot coffee and I’m pretty much sold on moving forward with cold brew from this point on. Very happy I finally made the purchase and, as noted before, very happy to have stuck with another solid OXO product.”

Customer Review: “Husband loves cold brew and bought this for him as a Christmas present. It’s easy to use and he loves it. I like the pot, reminds me a a chemistry lab beaker. Doesn’t take up too much counter space.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I am beyond impressed with this 64 oz Mason Jar Cold Brew Coffee Maker! From the moment I opened it, I could tell the materials were high quality. The glass feels thick and durable, not flimsy at all, and the components fit together securely without leaking or feeling loose. It has that sturdy, well-made construction that instantly gives you confidence it’s going to last. Making cold brew with it was incredibly easy. Just add your grounds, pour in water (into the filter and over the grounds) let it steep, and you’re done. The filter does a fantastic job, smooth coffee, minimal gritty residue, and a clean, rich flavor every time. Cleaning is just as simple, which is a huge win for me. Everything rinses out easily, and the wide mouth makes it super convenient to wash thoroughly. No awkward scrubbing or trapped grounds. I may have thrown mine in the dishwasher! The 64 oz size is perfect for prepping multiple servings at once, which saves time during busy weeks. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, this is a high-quality, user-friendly cold brew maker that delivers exactly what it promises! Highly recommend! ☕️”

Customer Review: “5/12/25: UPDATE: The pot works fine. One thing drive me to using bad words. I said this before, but it is an irritant. They attached the handle to the lid. Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove you hand with each turn is frustrating. Fir someone new to what cold coffee brew represents, this is a good starter pot, or I frequently used pot. The instruction page presented a problem. Simple answer: go online and get detailed instructions on just how to make cold coffee. Now, the simple instructions manuel is a fine reminder. Packaging handled the trip thru shipping very well. It is glass. It was double packed. There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter. The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “It’s a great product. Simple well built easy to use. I’ve only used it twice. First I tasted the coffee at different times. four hours, 6, 8, 12, 24. To see the difference that made. I didn’t like any of it. In fact I couldn’t drink it and threw it all out. Not the coffee makers fault. I just don’t like cold brew. It even makes me feel sick. I drink decaf for the flavor of it. I like a deep rich coffee flavor. I like a medium roast sweet coffee bean espresso. Cold brew just doesn’t taste anything like that. It has its own taste which is very mild and smooth or flavorless depending on your attitude. But it does extract more caffeine from the beans even my decaf beans made coffee too caffeinated for me. It also extracted some other stuff from the beans my espresso maker doesn’t having a totally different effect on that. I didn’t like it. I recommend trying cold brew before getting into making it yourself but my coffee shop doesn’t have decaf cold brew so I had to buy this to see for myself. If you like cold brew this is a great way to go. Aside from changing the time of the brew you can play around with adding paper filters inside the metal filter or filtering the coffee after it’s done but I didn’t mind the slight sludge on the bottom of my coffee cup. So the machine is simple easy to use works well easy to clean. Great if you like cold brew but it’s a completely different type of coffee.”

Customer Review: “I love this. It is not like pressing a button and coffee comes out, but cold brewing coffee is a bit of a process and should be, because it needs to sit for 12-24 hours. It is pretty easy to clean, simple to use, and the glass jar washes easily and does not stain. Coffee stains like a b….”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I felt like this product deserved one. This is an excellent cold brew maker. It is very easy to use and has a great 1,200 mL capacity. The plastic construction is more versatile (less fragile) than other brewers made from glass. The filtration system eliminates the sludge that other brew systems leave. The packaging is very thoughtful – a scoop and sponge are included. The scoop is easily overlooked, but it is the perfect size to clean the used grounds out of the filter. The sponge is an unexpectedly useful form factor to help with cleaning. Hopefully the sponges can be ordered separately, since sponges don’t last forever. Some minor downsides: Cleaning is moderately easy, but the only component that is recommended for the dishwasher is the pitcher (which is also easiest to clean by hand). All of the other elements are recommended for hand washing, which doesn’t take long. The way the filter is configured, the pitcher will work most effectively if stored (at least for part of the brew cycle) on its side. However, there is a vent in the lid that is prone to leaking when the pitcher is stored on its side. Brewing upright can lead to the top grounds not getting exposed to water. Unfortunately, one of the pieces broke during routine use after a couple of months: the pitcher lid is attached with a couple of hinges that snap the lid into place on the pitcher. One of the hinge attachments broke. I contacted customer service and a replacement pitcher arrived four days later. I’d recommend being careful with these hinge attachments as they seem prone to break. At the same time, the customer service is very responsive and suggests that they take support of their products seriously.”

Customer Review: “I’ve tried making cold brew a couple different ways, most recently with Ball jars and a metal filter. This Maestri brewer does a better job than other methods I’ve tried. No coffee ground sludge in the bottom, easy to clean grounds out of the filter, and easy to pour liquid out of the pitcher without removing the filter / grounds. The brew is pretty strong and tastes great. I have found that sometimes air gets trapped in the pitcher when I’m filling it, and that can affect the brewing slightly. When this happens, the coffee grounds don’t seem to get fully saturated right away, so the brewing time takes longer. 24 hours of brew time seems to be the sweet spot for my taste preference, which is strong.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “For the amount of coffee beans I dump into my percolator to make one cup of strong coffee, I thought I would be better off making cold brew and squeezing every last drop of caffeine out of my beans. This pitcher is functional, easy to clean, screw together, and has the little measuring tick marks on the side. For $20 it’s a great deal. I’m now enamored with the whole mason jar thing and it’s appealing to have a giant mason jar pitcher. Also the plastic lid screws on tight, my arms being stronger than some, so I had to be careful not to screw it on tighter. It’s a 64oz mason jar, but with the filter filled with 8oz of ground coffee it’s slightly less. The instructions say to use 8oz of coffee grounds with 64oz water, I didn’t come up with that myself. Also, you have to grind your own beans: the pre-ground beans from the store are too fine and seeped out of my metal tea strainers that I already had from a different brand/appliance. I didn’t experiment with putting store bought grounds in this strainer, no desire to potentially drink coffee with fine grounds in it. So in addition to this pitcher I ended up buying a Black&Decker basic coffee grinder, to get coarse grinds. I also labeled the lid with the date/time my 24-hour batch would be ready, with a red wax pencil. you can use masking tape or whatever, sharpie washes off plastic with dish soap sometimes. Overall this is a decent pitcher for making your own cold brew coffee.”

Customer Review: “Why pay high prices for coffee shop cold brew when you can easily make your own at home? This cold brew coffee maker is simply amazing! It’s super easy to use, easy to clean, and delivers great taste and convenience at a fraction of the cost. The 64oz glass jar is sturdy and well-made, and the stainless steel filter works perfectly. It’s also fun to use with family — everyone can craft their own unique blend of decaf or caffeinated cold brew to suit their taste. Choosing the right coffee beans makes all the difference! Highly recommended — great price, excellent build quality, and a must-have for any coffee lover.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Things I’ve learned using this very nice maker: Making a new batch: You really don’t want finely ground coffee grounds. I made that mistake the first time, just using what I had for hot coffee. I highly recommend measuring out your grounds to the recommended amount and use a measuring cup each time to add them. Eyeballing 5/6th full is proving very inconsistent 🤣. I have used room temp water and I’ve used cold water straight from the fridge because of laziness, I don’t notice a difference. I am really only drinking coffee out of necessity though, not to enjoy the taste so there might be others with a more sophisticated palate that feel differently. I use 4+ cups of water and use a large measuring cup to pour it in. I go over the max line slightly after getting all of the water in and settled (basically as high as I can fill it to still be able to shut the lid without overflowing) and I pour about a cup in, stir with handle of tiny spoon, mash down with spoon part of the spoon (is there a name for that?), pour in another cup and repeat. It can take a couple of minutes to do as the water settles and you push the grounds back in. I go above the max line because even after doing all of this, there were batches that the water was below the max line because things have settled. I need as much coffee as I can get so this works well. When I do this, I get 4 cups of cold brew, which is three days worth for me. I have let it brew for 12 hours, 18 hours, and 22 hours and like 22 the best. So when I’ve had my second (of 3) day’s cold brew I make a new batch to have ready for day 3 just to be safe. You never know when the kids or your anxiety will keep you up all night and you’ll need a little extra. One thing that will help to have: a tiny metal spoon. I use it to stir (with the handle) and then mash down the grounds after the water has been poured in. I have tried a plastic chop stick and it didn’t work well, I have also tried a butter knife and that was terrible. The tiny spoon works great!. Pouring for consumption: I use a reusable coffee filter to strain the brew out of this container because no matter how big your grounds are, there is a gunk that forms at the bottom that I don’t want to drink. So after it’s done brewing, I pour the entire container into a large measuring cup (the same one I use for the water) THROUGH the strainer, then pour 1 1/4 ish cups into three mason jars. Seal them up and put them in the fridge. You can adjust your portions however you’d like, I just found that 1 cup of cold brew wasn’t quite enough. Mason jars are your best friend. You can pour your desired amount of cold brew per day directly in to them and refrigerate until you’re ready to drink. Add your water (I didn’t realize you had to do this before making my first batch, but I’ve learned I don’t like the 1:1 ratio as much, so I use 1 1/4 cup cold brew pre-measured in the jar and add 1/2 cup of water) directly into the mason jar and add milk/creamer (you don’t NEEED anything, I like 3 tbsp of creamer though because I don’t love coffee and I also don’t do milk/sugar, it’s not enough sugar for me 🤣), add an ice cube or two, and drink with a reusable straw from the mason jar.. The plastic tumblers are also a good option but I don’t like refrigerating them as much because the seal isn’t completely tight. I also prefer drinking out of glass. Now you could pour directly from the cold brew maker, but I want to filter mine and I can’t make a new batch if I’m storing the cold brew in there… so the timing didn’t work out the first couple of batches doing that. The only downside, I do wish it wasn’t glass. The amount of moving this thing that is required while making a new batch always makes me nervous. Especially when I have to sit it on the sink to pour out the grounds (although I am going to look for other uses of the grounds in my yard or something). It does have a rubber bottom grip that is removable but I’m clumsy and am just one bad night’s of sleep from knocking it over and it breaking. But it is very nice it is glass and dishwasher safe and very easy to clean by hand in a pinch. Overall I would highly recommend. This is a great cold brew maker. I do wish I had gotten a larger size one because it takes a lot of grounds and I only get 3 days worth of coffee. I think a larger size would only use marginally more grounds and would get 4-5 days worth but I can’t confirm. Happy brewing!”

Customer Review: “Love this carafe. Easy to use and maintain. This brewing method makes great coffee when you use fresh coarsely ground coffee beans.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Before I go further, I am incredibly happy with my purchase. I am able to make draft coffee and lattes with exactly the same taste and mouthfeel as from cafes. It’s a little hard to fit in my fridge, so make sure you take measurements to find the ideal positioning. The build quality is very good, with solid hunks of heavy, stainless steel and robust gaskets. The whole thing is put together well with only a couple of pieces of plastic. The instructions are quite poor. They are difficult to parse, badly laid out, contain multiple typos, and are inadequate for making the best coffee. They mention attaching a gasket, something also mentioned in their YouTube videos, but it was not in the package, while another, different gasket came pre-installed. There are steps emphasizing the importance of cutting the hose to the correct length, but I instead received, like, a dozen pre-cut hoses that I just cleaned and used. The process was confusing. Nowhere is it explained that nitrogen has a huge effect on flavor. I knew this, because I have loved nitro coffee and nitro beer for years, but did not fully appreciate the magnitude of the effect until putting some off-the-shelf cold brew coffee into the keg. Cold brew is already very mellow, and the increased mellowing of the nitrogen makes the coffee taste almost like water. I strongly recommend making your own cold brew and using a slightly diluted concentrate instead of fully diluted coffee. The same goes for if you are making draft lattes, make the drink stronger than you otherwise would when consuming via another method. The instructions are also, strangely, contradictory with other pieces of documentation from Royal Brew. Some places recommend using a single N2O canister, whereas others say that the dual N2 canisters are ideal. I have tried both and can say, beyond doubt, that the dual N2 canisters produce a significantly better product. If you desire a product that is similar to what you would get from a cafe, you must use N2. Unfortunately, the process for using dual N2 canisters is one of the areas where the instructions fail. They simply say to repeat two steps for the extra canister but they do not provide the correct time frame in which to repeat these steps. Again, I experimented and can provide some insight. When you inject the first N2 canister, shake the keg and let it sit for a short time. You don’t need to take a full hour, since all you want is for the liquid to absorb enough of the gas such that, when you remove the N2 canister, you don’t have wasted gas blast out. If you attach the second canister shortly after injecting the first, you will lose quite a bit of gas from the first injection. After you have attached the second canister, vigorously shake the keg for a full thirty seconds. I let my keg sit in the fridge for an hour in one case and two hours in another and saw no difference in final product. One hour appears to be enough for the initial gas infusion. If your keg has sat unused for more than a couple of hours, make sure to vigorously shake the keg for thirty seconds before dispensing. The quality of the nitro when these steps are followed is excellent. Finally, I don’t like the videos and photos of people drinking full beer glasses of beautiful, cascading nitro coffee. This is not a large keg. Maximizing quality demands that you absolutely do not fill the keg past the 75% mark, which means that you can only put 48oz in the 64oz keg, which means that it’s enough for only three of those glasses. If you drink a lot of coffee through the day, or if you have company, you will hit the limits of the 64oz keg very quickly. I hit the limit on my second day with some friends and since preparation takes 90 minutes, it’s not something you can just whip together when you run out. I strongly recommend anyone looking at this product to look at the 128oz version, even though its increased size will make the shaking step during preparation that much more difficult. All in all, while this is not super-easy, it is also not hard. And importantly, the final product is so good that I don’t care about the process required to get there. I am glad that I chose this over the uKeg because, one, it was cheaper, but also because the external connection for the gas means that I am not beholden to the tiny canisters. I could theoretically attach a larger gas assembly, which is even more attractive if using the 128oz canister which requires four of the N2 gas canisters. That is neither here nor there, though. I am very happy with my purchase after only a few days of ownership.”

Customer Review: “I took a notice of the nitro cold brew craze over the last year and especially this summer when my girlfriend and my kids increased the frequency of Starbucks trips for this tasty sensation. I decided to get the royal brew home kit, which can fill up 4+ nitro cold brews which can last for about a week. I have had this kit for a bit over a week, and please understand I am a complete novice in this area and do not drink cold brew. I am only the at home barista for my ladies. 1. The initial instructions are a little confusing, however there is a link to a video. One key thing I learned was to install one additional gasket provided when you first put together spigot, other than that it is easy to assemble. 2. There are multiple directions on how much liquid you should put into the tank. I made 3 different batches over the last week and have been careful to put exactly 48 ounces of coffee into the container. I use a 64 oz measuring cup to ensure I get the right amount into the unit. (It would be great if there was some way to be able to see / measure how much water is in the container as it seems impossible to look at the level in the tank from the top. 3. Cold Brew Concentrate: I found the cold brew concentrate creation the most difficult up front. There are many recommendations on-line and I am sure others are doing it better than me. I use a gallon container and then a food strainer with coarse ground beans of multiple types to make the concentrate. My girlfriend likes it strong and so we end up using nearly straight concentrate in the tank. 4. Cream additive: During our trials we have tried both adding cream after and pre-mixing in the concentrate. Premixing in the concentrate is the preferred method right now. We are currently at 4 oz of cream with 44 oz of concentrate. I am sure we will continue to modify but that mixture seems to be working well. 5. N02 or N2: N2 takes 2 cartridges with some time between each mixture, however really creates that creamy taste that most people are looking for. The consistency from the 1st glass to the end of the 4th glass does start to change the mixture but still pretty good. N02 takes one cartridge and the first 2 glasses have great consistency, however we have experienced glass 3-5 have much less integrated gas left. That said the difference in price is significant (50c vs. $2.6 for the two N2 cannisters). We are going to try adding another N02 after two glasses to see if that does anything. 6. The Drip: There is still a drip issue you need to try to take into account. Everytime I take the drip cover off I seem to spill the drips that are in the container. Hopefully someone knows the trick or there will be a better drip cover in the future. 7. There are some pipe cleaners provided to clean the unit. Pretty good so far, but again early days for me with this unit. 8. So far I have been able to mix the product and keep it in the fridge for 4 days. Unfortunately current popularity has emptied it within that time frame. I think it will last a week though for sure. Overall, so far I am happy with the purchase of this product and would recommend it to others who enjoy having this product at home and making it for yourself. I think the NO2 creamers will be our standard and for some more special occasions we will use the straight nitrogen. I am looking forward to try to figure out some different uses for the container as well. I think I can use this to accelerate infusion of flavors into my brown liquor. Stay tuned.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Cold Brew Coffee Maker For Home

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing the best cold brew coffee maker for home, consider the material (glass vs. BPA-free plastic), as glass offers a premium feel but can be fragile, while plastic offers durability. Capacity is important too—larger pitchers are great for families, while smaller sizes fit well for individuals. Filtration type impacts taste and sediment; stainless steel fine mesh filters are preferred for smooth coffee. Ease of cleaning and leak-proof lids add to user convenience, and additional features like measurement markings or nitrogen infusions can enhance the experience.

Budget Planning

Cold brew coffee makers range from budget-friendly mason jar styles under $25 to premium systems like nitro kegs costing over $100. Decide what features matter most to you and balance price with durability and functionality. For most home users, a mid-range pitcher with a quality filter and leak-proof lid offers the best value for daily cold brew.

Q: How long does cold brew coffee take to brew?

A: Cold brew coffee typically needs 12 to 24 hours of steeping in cold water to extract the rich, smooth flavors.

Q: Can I use any coffee grind for cold brew?

A: It’s best to use coarsely ground coffee to avoid over-extraction and to prevent sediment from passing through the filter.

Q: How do I clean my cold brew coffee maker?

A: Most cold brew makers are easy to clean by rinsing the pitcher and filter after use. Some parts may be dishwasher safe, but hand washing is generally recommended for the filter.

Q: Is plastic or glass better for cold brew makers?
