Customer Review: 5/12/25: UPDATE: The pot works fine. One thing drive me to using bad words. I said this before, but it is an irritant. They attached the handle to the lid. Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove you hand with each turn is frustrating. Fir someone new to what cold coffee brew represents, this is a good starter pot, or I frequently used pot. The instruction page presented a problem. Simple answer: go online and get detailed instructions on just how to make cold coffee. Now, the simple instructions manuel is a fine reminder. Packaging handled the trip thru shipping very well. It is glass. It was double packed. There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter. The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.

Customer Review: First off, I’m not a daily coffee drinker, more like a once or twice a week after dinner coffee drinker, I drink it for the flavor more than a “have to” kind of thing. That being said, I need to have great tasting coffee. I have quite the collection of different coffee making apparatuses, from simple stainless steel pour overs (surprisingly tasty coffee comes from those), to French presses, a couple of different cold brew devices, a couple of different Moka pots, and an AeroPress. I also tend to grind my own beans. I love making coffee in each of these coffee making devices, but at this time, my absolute favorite is the Oxo Rapid Brewer. I find it makes pretty good coffee, and the ease of use and cleanup afterward is also a major perk. Even though I really enjoy coffee in all of my other coffee devices, I have been known to want a cup of coffee but chose to not make it only because of the fact that it was either going to take too much time/effort to get it set up and/or the cleanup afterward. Enter the Oxo Rapid brewer. I love the fact that it can make hot or cold brew, and the cold brew takes only a few more minutes than the hot. I have been experimenting with adding a dash of cinnamon to the coffee bed before tamping, I’m going to try cocoa powder next. One thing I do that is a bit extra, since I have an AeroPress, I have lots of those paper filters for it, I do use one in my Oxo Rapid brewer, only to make it easier to clean out and it helps keep the metal filter from getting clogged. I don’t know for a fact that it will get clogged, I’m only going by past experience with stainless steel pour over devices, they have a very fine metal filter and eventually the very fine coffee grounds do slow the coffee from going through. I am doing this in a preemptive manner. I also reuse the paper filter a few times, I did that with the AeroPress (don’t judge) and it works just fine, I rinse it and reuse it a few times with no issues. If I remember correctly, the maker of the AeroPress said in an experiment to see how many uses he could get from one, he got 100 uses out of 1 paper filter, I wouldn’t go that far, but I see nothing wrong with reusing it a few times. Back to the regularly scheduled program, I find that the Oxo Rapid brewer works great for me, it makes tasty coffee, it’s easy to use, easy to learn, easy to clean. It makes a concentrate which I use for a larger cup of coffee, I like to add either half and half or milk, some water and a bit of maple syrup for sweetness. I have found it makes just the right amount for me, but if need be I could share or since it brews so quickly, I could easily make 2 batches back to back. It doesn’t leak, it makes more than enough for me, the unit feels sturdy, I’m not concerned about dropping it. Cleaning it is a breeze, I just knock out the coffee grounds, rescuing the paper filter, I rinse everything and let it dry in my dish drain. It is super stealthy too, no worries about disturbing anyone if I decide I want a quick cupper in the middle of the night. My only “issue” is I purchased a few bottles of coffee concentrate just before ordering this, it’s hard to decide which I want to use, I am going to have to make myself use up my coffee concentrate (I don’t want to waste them, they are good too). I am enjoying using this method to make my own coffee concentrate, maybe I’ll hang on to one of the empty bottles and refill it with the brewed coffee concentrate. If you are on the fence about buying this, don’t be, it’s worth it, the price is right and the method is fun and makes a tasty brew.

The process is straightforward, and it doesn’t require precise proportions of coffee to water to make great coffee. Small and light-weight, it cleans up easily. Would I buy it again? Yes. Besides, I’ve always liked iced coffee, so I don’t have to water down hot coffee with a handful of ice cubes, but can have a hot cup when desired by simply using the microwave for a few seconds. I’d read what seemed like a credible review, and this particular coffee maker was highly rated despite how affordable it is – so I purchased two of them so I’d always have a pot on hand in the refrigerator. Besides the user-friendly design of the unit’s components, the shape of the carafe makes it easy to fit in the refrigerator without taking up much space. I also like the fact that it’s made from Eastman’s Tritan plastic, as we have a countertop distiller that uses this material for its carafe and I’ve found it to be really durable while not incorporating any of the chemical compounds that have been found to be harmful. I don’t know how durable it will turn out to be, but my current impression is that I’ll definitely get my money’s worth and then some with just a little care on my part.

Customer Review: So easy to use that my husband makes his own coffee with it! My husband was having trouble with stomach aches after his gallons of coffee each day. We were told that cold brew coffee can be less acidic and hoped that it would help his stomach issues. You literally grind the coffee and put it in the center filter and fill up the container with water then set it in the fridge and walk away until the next day. Technically I think the instructions said 12 hours, but we fill it, toss it in the fridge and forget about it until the next day. Coffee tastes great and is ready to pour the next day. The husband nukes his cup in the microwave to get it hot and fills his travel mug. I’m not sure that it helps much with the stomach issue, but the hubs likes it and it makes a good cold coffee for me so win – win in my books!

Using Costco KS Colombian Whole Beans, ground fresh before preparing, this makes great cold brew, very smooth and delightful flavor. (Bit of a cheat here: I have been buying Costco’s canned cold brew coffee made from the same stock, and they taste about the same. If anything, this maker produces slightly smoother taste, but I may be making it a bit weaker.) Takes 12-24 hrs to steep; I’ve let it steep about 18 hours so far to make good dark brew. This device is 100% manual, and you will likely have to pour water over the grounds bit by bit until the top section is full. Water has to settle into and through the grounds after they “bloom.” Once full, you set it aside roughly overnight, then open the air vent, release the fill valve, and delicioso cold brew drains into the carafe which you can then put in the fridge to chill. The top portion dismantles and can be practically rinsed out under warm water for next use. Soap hardly needed (maybe once a week). The carafe cleans quite easily with an OXO or similar brand soft nylon bottle brush. Take especial care of the gaskets … one fell out during unpacking, it was very simple to put back in place. Don’t overtighten and I’m sure they’ll last a long time. The more expensive models may offer convenience, but frankly, this is like making ice tea or lemonade, it’s not rocket surgery. If the output isn’t enough for your household, you can buy two for the same amount of money of a fancier “automatic” model that perhaps doesn’t make that much more. Customer Review: For the amount of coffee beans I dump into my percolator to make one cup of strong coffee, I thought I would be better off making cold brew and squeezing every last drop of caffeine out of my beans. This pitcher is functional, easy to clean, screw together, and has the little measuring tick marks on the side. For $20 it’s a great deal. I’m now enamored with the whole mason jar thing and it’s appealing to have a giant mason jar pitcher. Also the plastic lid screws on tight, my arms being stronger than some, so I had to be careful not to screw it on tighter. It’s a 64oz mason jar, but with the filter filled with 8oz of ground coffee it’s slightly less. The instructions say to use 8oz of coffee grounds with 64oz water, I didn’t come up with that myself. Also, you have to grind your own beans: the pre-ground beans from the store are too fine and seeped out of my metal tea strainers that I already had from a different brand/appliance. I didn’t experiment with putting store bought grounds in this strainer, no desire to potentially drink coffee with fine grounds in it. So in addition to this pitcher I ended up buying a Black&Decker basic coffee grinder, to get coarse grinds. I also labeled the lid with the date/time my 24-hour batch would be ready, with a red wax pencil. you can use masking tape or whatever, sharpie washes off plastic with dish soap sometimes. Overall this is a decent pitcher for making your own cold brew coffee.

Customer Review: This bottle will make a little over a pint of cold brew, about three 6 oz. cups. We used 4 oz. coffee and filled the jar; it came out great. The plastic filter is now stained brown after cleaning but that doesn’t affect the coffee flavor. For the price this is a pretty good cold brew maker.
