Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “For the price this is a hard value to beat! I live off grid and this has transformed my coffee drinking experience! I can keep it extra warm on the woodstove in winter, and summer is warm enough to maintain heat. It is no thermal comparison as a good thermos. Its not thin metal, has some insulation properties, but don’t expect it to be extremely thermal capable. In a colder (50f degree) air temp, it cools off pretty quick. Filter quality is superb! Usability is superb! Easy to use and clean! For the price its hard to beat!”

Customer Review: “Very sturdy. Beautiful. It has 3 filters and makes a great pot of coffee. Easy to clean. The price is unbeatable for the quality.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is a great pot for making coffee, hot cocoa, boiling water (it will do a rolling boil for approximately 30 seconds before shutting off), popcorn, and even cooking or warming up small amounts of food. Works great without issues or complications and automatically shuts off after completing the desired cycle. Its very simple to just plug in, set it to either drink, eat, or pop and then press start. It is essentially noise free (except for hearing the boiling water). This is a great product and combines many functions into one easy to use cooker/kettle. This is a perfect electric alternative to a jetboil, or can reduce your kitchen appliances down to just one item for many tasks.Highly recommend this Kettle Pot. You will not be disappointed.”

Customer Review: “as a vine reviewer I write/type a lot of reviews…and mostly stopped reviewing my purchases because of the extra workbut sometimes something GREAT comes along that you feel it’s worth your time to help othersfirstly I feel you should always tell folks HOW you’ll use something – for me, I will only ‘normally use’ this for heating up water for teamy normal routine was get up, start the pot, usually prep the tea bags…go back to work – hear the pot click off (or MISS THAT) and get up, pour the hot water – set timer for 5 mins to remember to GET TEAmy problem was that I’d be working during this and just mentally ‘forget’ – because I’m workingthis cup did NOT ‘solve’ the ‘forgetting/leaving’ problem – in fact this has no ‘end noise’ at all – just a lack of boiling noise subsiding – my only critique (FOR ME and my usage) is this should make some noise indicator of ‘done’because the pot was full of water it was always brought to temp ‘clean’ – but with this I can put bags in before the boil – even ‘prep’ the cup for later use by having water and tea ‘ready’ for just a power on cyclewhile I have brought the pot into the office for meetings or tele-confrences – this is much smaller/easierI have never popped popcorn in it – and never will – very likely never cook food in it either (only if during a power outage or some other emergency)what I don’t like:I don’t like the cord…it’s too thick and rigid – it becomes an anchor when trying to use the cup without unplugging – and if you DO unplug you should unplug both sides as now you’ve got ‘exposed’ electrical with water involved – and the cord doesn’t pull out that easily from either end – it’s only 500 watts but the cord is sized bigger than most 1850 watt heatersit’s long enough for me to keep plugged in and near my reverse osmosis water fixtureit’s small and easy enough to grab a water bottle, this, and some tea bags and take into the office (I’m sure you’re thinking I could leave it in there – but nights/weekends I like tea too – and I need good reasons to get up from the chair while working – something my back and carpal tunnel telling me I should have done in the past too, so a few minutes of movement is always welcomed)I did get the coffee press style – as I debated trying loose leaf teas again – stopped because it always felt ‘too fiddly’ where bags are just stupidly convenient/easy – but loose was nice when you wished to strengthen or weaken your tea – bags are more limited there)my bottom is getting ‘oxidation’ marks – stainless is basically nickel, chromium, and steel – but still can/will oxidize if the passivation layer is removed and bare metal is exposed – and bubble cavitation when boiling causes this – and where we live there’s so much hard water that everything eventually turns white with calcium powderthe settings are: 1, off after reaching boil temp (great for tea)2, cook (believe it heats to boil then switches to warm)3, pop (believe it stays on high until you turn it off)I’ll likely never use the lid for anything other than keeping heat in – it’s got a ‘sip through’ design – but this is an ALL metal cup with some wetsuit material (insulation) wrapped around it – there’s still some very hot metal your lips can touch between lid and insul – also someone else complained in review that it’s not the best at sippy cup eitherall I didn’t like about the lids was because of my usage (boiling tea) – condensation occurring on the underside is actually ‘brown’ (stained my dish drainer) – because of ME – it’s because i’m boiling the tea – but the lid does condensate liquids and it’s a significant amount and its HOTI don’t like the power button – it’s hard to feel – I glued on a rubber dome which makes finding it easier (like the little nub on your F and J keyboard keys – the button sits flush and is a bit hard to tactile feel when running your finger because most of the bottom is textured and nubby)I don’t like that it doesn’t enunciate that it’s DONE – it’s more for active cooking vs passive cookingI like that the french press is removable – when I first got it I thought it couldn’t come out and the lid would permanently have the french press attachment – but nope you can unscrew the bottom and remove it – nice featurefor me, and tea it’s been nice – why: because I can boil the tea in the pot (I know they say not to do that, can make the tea bitter – that bitterness feeds my bitter soul) – this saves me the 3-5 minute ‘steeping time’ – but really wish the ‘done’ was a beep and not just powering down and boiling noise subsiding – that’s what timers are for – this has made my life and tea a bit easier(and why don’t I boil the tea in the big pot? well it’s ‘big’ – hard to clean inside – and because it’s a big heat plate has a ‘min’ amount of water that needs to be kept inside — whereas with this its PER CUP for each use – and no left over tea, or diluted amount (or too strong, if that’s even possible)other gripe: the handle isn’t great…it’s just a strap…and when dealing with HOT BOILING LIQUIDS it’s usually best to have good handles and firm/rigid control of things…this is a little floppy and with that cord anchor becomes a smidge less easy than I imagined it would be in my head”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “UPDATE:. Oh, I’m loving this French press! I bought a metal mesh sieve (set of 3, actually), which makes the cleanup so much easier. You can buy them here on Amazon, but I don’t think they appreciate adding links to purchases. Actually, THEY really should add mesh sieves to the bottom of the screen as ‘bought together’…or maybe the seller can add a metal mesh sieve to the set! [*wink-wink*]. So, I simply allow the glass to cool a bit before putting warm water in the grounds, swishing the water around to catch all the grounds, and pouring them into the sieve. It really helps if you have a ‘shower’ type of spray nozzle on your spigot. This prevents the water from splashing all over the sink. So I rinse as many times as I can to remove the grinds; usually not more than three times. NEVER add cold water to hot glass. This can cause the fragile glass to crack. I empty the strained grinds into the trash. Then I use the spray nozzle to spray the few loose grinds off the sieve and plunger. I fill the carafe 3/4 full with clean warm water, then add a bit of detergent to the water in the carafe, then pump the plunger up and down in the water to clean the glass and plunger at the same time. To empty the carafe, I pour the detergent water over the sieve to clean that, and use the spray spigot to rinse the soapy dishes. I rinse everything with hot water, again using the spray nozzle, then set everything in the empty dishwasher to drain. I have a top rack for small dishes, but you may need to drain the small items on a towel on your counter.I also discovered that the glass does slide out of the metal holder. I was pulling up on the plunger one day when I discovered the glass pulling away from the metal. I don’t know if it was originally glued in, but this certainly makes it much easier to clean. I was noticing coffee grinds between the glass and metal, which was very annoying. I’m so glad it can be removed to clean. But I do have to make sure it doesn’t slide out of the metal casing when I pour or pull out the plunger.Since everything is much easier to clean now, I make all my coffee in the FP. I also noticed a difference in the taste, and it is not my imagination. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to drip! There are a few negative reviews, mainly about cracking. But as long as you DO NOT ADD COLD WATER TO THE HEATED GLASS, you shouldn’t have cracks. I’m considering buying a second FP just in case this one breaks. This is well worth the purchase.”

Customer Review: “Nice and simple press, its easy to clean and it’s filters hold down the grounds well, the plunger is form fitting not allowing grains past it. It also looks nice.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “My husband and I absolutely love this Secura French Press. The fifty ounce size is perfect for us and easily makes five full cups of coffee or six if you pour them a little lighter. It is great for slow mornings together or when we want more than just a single cup.The stainless steel build feels very high quality and it is extremely well insulated. Our coffee stays hot for about two hours, which is a huge plus. The filter is excellent and so far we have had no issues with grounds slipping through, which has been a problem with other French presses we have owned.”

Customer Review: “I have only used French presses for about 12 years and I have had a few in that time. I even had an insulated one that I’ve used for a few years.I got this one yesterday to replace that one as it broke. This is very nice looking. Feels quality. I had my first cup of coffee and it was as expected…hot and delicious. I had my second cup an hour later and steam rose as I poured. The coffee was still a great temperature! This was not the case with my previous insulated french press.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “What I Love:Feels sturdy and well-made – no more worrying about breaking it like my old glass pressDouble-wall insulation keeps coffee nice and hot while brewingComes with extra mesh filters (a thoughtful bonus)Clear, easy-to-read measurement markings on the insideI was lucky to get it at a great priceA Few Minor Drawbacks:The mesh filter’s center cut is a bit rough and might not last as long as my old oneNo exterior fill lines (though the inside markings work just fine)I wonder if the inside markings might fade over time from the filter rubbing against themAfter years of using a glass French press, I decided it was time for something sturdier. My old silica glass one worked fine—until it broke far too easily. This stainless steel press is a welcome upgrade. It feels solid, is insulated to keep coffee hot while steeping, and I was lucky enough to snag it at a great price. The press arrived with extra mesh filters, which is a thoughtful touch. Two were already stacked on the shaft, but you only need one for brewing. They’re good quality, though the cutout in the center is a little rough, so I’m curious to see if it will wear out faster than my old filter (which lasted over a year). The insulation is a big plus—my coffee stays piping hot during brewing. If you prefer to drink it immediately after steeping, you might want to leave the lid off to allow it to cool to a drinkable temperature. One thing I miss from my old press is the exterior fill markings. Since this one is stainless steel, those can’t be on the outside—but it does have clear, easy-to-read measurements etched inside. My only concern is that over time, the filter rubbing against the walls could fade those markings.Overall, I love the durability, heat retention, and the peace of mind that comes from not worrying about breaking it. It feels like a smart upgrade from glass, and at the price I paid, it’s hard to beat.”

Customer Review: “Great coffee press. We had a glass one but the coffee cooled pretty quickly. This press hold heat and keeps the coffee warm much longer. It looks nice not a cheap look.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I bought this for camping. It kept the coffee hot. It’s a nice size and is a quality product. The handle stays cool and works great. It’s easy to clean and is solid stainless steel. There is now plastic or glass to crack and break. I would recommend this French press.”

Customer Review: “I love this french press. I was previously using a glass one. I don’t have a dishwasher and well water is used for dish washing. Therefore, the glass always seemed to be a bit cloudy. I had to fill it with vinegar to get it clear. The Stainless is much easier to clean and the coffee oil/residue doesn’t seem to bind as much (this could be my imagination). At any rate, it is easy to use, extremely attractive and cleans up quickly and thoroughly. I would definitely purchase this again if anything happens to this one, as long as it lasts me at least a few years. But, I expect it will last much longer than that. It’s very sturdy and the extra screens will be handy in the future.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I recently purchased the Mixpresso Stainless Steel French Press Coffee and I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to use. The design is simple and straightforward – you just add your coffee grounds, pour in hot water, and let it brew for a few minutes. Then, press down on the plunger and voila! Perfectly brewed coffee.Another great feature of this French press is how easy it is to maintain. The stainless steel parts can be easily washed. I haven’t experienced any rusting or discoloration with the steel parts, which is a huge plus. One thing that sets this French press apart from others I’ve used is how well it keeps the temperature of the coffee while it’s brewing. I’ve noticed that with other presses, the coffee can cool down quickly, but with this one, it stays hot for a while.I have to mention the price – this French press is definitely worth the investment. It’s affordable, but still feels like a high-quality product. I would absolutely recommend this French press to anyone in the market for one. It’s easy to use, easy to maintain, keeps the temperature while brewing, and is a great value for the price.”

Complete Buying Guide for Thermal French Press Coffee Maker

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a thermal French press coffee maker, we look at several important features. First is the construction material—stainless steel is preferred for durability and insulation, while borosilicate glass offers a classic look but less heat retention. The filtration system matters too; multi-layered metal filters ensure fewer grounds in your cup and a smoother brew. Capacity is another consideration depending on whether you brew for one or multiple people. Lastly, ease of cleaning and portability influence daily usability and convenience.

Budget Planning

Thermal French press coffee makers range from budget-friendly models under $30 to premium options over $70. Basic models typically provide good insulation and sturdy materials, while higher-end presses may include extra filters, advanced filtration systems, and enhanced design features. Consider how often and where you’ll use it to decide the best investment. For occasional use, more affordable options suffice, while daily users may benefit from durable, feature-rich models.

Final Thoughts

A thermal French press coffee maker offers a perfect blend of rich coffee flavor and heat retention. Selecting the right one depends on your brewing needs, style preferences, and budget. Investing in a quality thermal press means enjoying fresh, hot coffee for longer, with easy cleanup and reliable performance. Whether at home or on the go, these presses make excellent additions to any coffee lover’s routine.
