Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Searching for a great cup of coffee has been a very long quest for me. I have been using the standard style electric drip coffee maker for over 50 years. I had gone though several of the under $100 dollar popular makers and the coffee was pretty much standard issue, regardless of all the comments and claims. I broke down and purchased a very nice French Press, as I had coffee from these and was very pleased. When it came – I then began the research of “all of the work” required to get the press coffee just right – bottom line – “No Way” I do not have this type of time in the morning just to get a decent cup of coffee! Enter this fantastic and simple product! Yes, it requires a little more work than just pressing the button on standard coffee-maker – but the little extra work is very well worth the effort! The supplied micro-mesh stainless reusable filter is beautiful, but I add a non-bleached cone filter – I like finely ground fresh coffee. Using an electric kettle, it is both easy and rewarding to irrigate the grounds and see what your doing – no way an electric automatic coffee-maker can do this. In a few minutes, I was stunned by just how great my regular coffee grind tasted. The build quality is excellent and I very highly recommend this coffee maker.

Customer Review: Very nice. Bought for my Dad after I accidentally broke his last one (not easy, but a glass jar fell right onto it from the top shelf of a cabinet above it and that will do it!) My Dad used to roast, flavor and grind his own coffee as a small business and our family is spoiled and definitely coffee snobs, but pour over is a favorite here and this does the job credibly. The only thing, as per my Dad’s semi-professional opinion, he has never used the mesh filter that this comes with, as it doesn’t let the water sit in with the grounds for very long, so it doesn’t “steep” quite as long as it should and ends up with weaker coffee. He still will use paper filters. Much better flavor! Hope this helps!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I didn’t know how much I needed one of these cold brew containers in my life 🤣 makes my mornings so much more enjoyable and hassle free, I just grab this from the fridge, pour, add my creamer! The way it’s designed the quality of the coffee comes out tasting more than bold and delicious! You just press the filter down and when you pour it ensures you don’t get grounds in your cup. Extremely durable and leak proof, I tested the theory just to make sure I don’t get any surprises when handling it, the lid locks in place so by turning it so when you pour it doesn’t leak or fall off. Very compact but enough volume to have coffee saved up for days if you use an average 12oz cup! Extremely well worth it.

Customer Review: I am beyond impressed with this 64 oz Mason Jar Cold Brew Coffee Maker! From the moment I opened it, I could tell the materials were high quality. The glass feels thick and durable, not flimsy at all, and the components fit together securely without leaking or feeling loose. It has that sturdy, well-made construction that instantly gives you confidence it’s going to last. Making cold brew with it was incredibly easy. Just add your grounds, pour in water (into the filter and over the grounds) let it steep, and you’re done. The filter does a fantastic job, smooth coffee, minimal gritty residue, and a clean, rich flavor every time. Cleaning is just as simple, which is a huge win for me. Everything rinses out easily, and the wide mouth makes it super convenient to wash thoroughly. No awkward scrubbing or trapped grounds. I may have thrown mine in the dishwasher! If you’re on the fence, don’t be, this is a high-quality, user-friendly cold brew maker that delivers exactly what it promises! Highly recommend! ☕️

Customer Review: 5/12/25: UPDATE: The pot works fine. One thing drive me to using bad words. I said this before, but it is an irritant. They attached the handle to the lid. Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove you hand with each turn is frustrating. Fir someone new to what cold coffee brew represents, this is a good starter pot, or I frequently used pot. The instruction page presented a problem. Simple answer: go online and get detailed instructions on just how to make cold coffee. Now, the simple instructions manuel is a fine reminder. Packaging handled the trip thru shipping very well. It is glass. It was double packed. There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter. The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: For the amount of coffee beans I dump into my percolator to make one cup of strong coffee, I thought I would be better off making cold brew and squeezing every last drop of caffeine out of my beans. This pitcher is functional, easy to clean, screw together, and has the little measuring tick marks on the side. For $20 it’s a great deal. I’m now enamored with the whole mason jar thing and it’s appealing to have a giant mason jar pitcher. Also the plastic lid screws on tight, my arms being stronger than some, so I had to be careful not to screw it on tighter. It’s a 64oz mason jar, but with the filter filled with 8oz of ground coffee it’s slightly less. The instructions say to use 8oz of coffee grounds with 64oz water, I didn’t come up with that myself. Also, you have to grind your own beans: the pre-ground beans from the store are too fine and seeped out of my metal tea strainers that I already had from a different brand/appliance. I didn’t experiment with putting store bought grounds in this strainer, no desire to potentially drink coffee with fine grounds in it. So in addition to this pitcher I ended up buying a Black&Decker basic coffee grinder, to get coarse grinds. I also labeled the lid with the date/time my 24-hour batch would be ready, with a red wax pencil. you can use masking tape or whatever, sharpie washes off plastic with dish soap sometimes. Overall this is a decent pitcher for making your own cold brew coffee.

Customer Review: Why pay high prices for coffee shop cold brew when you can easily make your own at home? This cold brew coffee maker is simply amazing! It’s super easy to use, easy to clean, and delivers great taste and convenience at a fraction of the cost. The 64oz glass jar is sturdy and well-made, and the stainless steel filter works perfectly. It’s also fun to use with family — everyone can craft their own unique blend of decaf or caffeinated cold brew to suit their taste. Choosing the right coffee beans makes all the difference! Highly recommended — great price, excellent build quality, and a must-have for any coffee lover.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’ve had and used several times a week for 4.5 years. This is just an outstanding little set up. Easy to use and easy to clean (as long as you don’t let the coffee grinds dry in the filter). Really durable, great buy that makes excellent could brew.

Customer Review: So I love tea, but I hate being warm. I’ve had a bunch of loose leaf tea just sitting in my cupboard throughout Summer because I didn’t want to drink something warm when it was already too hot in our house. From the first time I used this it immediately became a “why didn’t I buy this sooner?” kind of thing. Now I always have tea either steeping or ready to drink. I’ve used it with both green and black teas, which have both been fantastic. Going to try a herbal chai tea next. The tea tastes perfect, exactly as it does with a perfectly steeped hot tea, but with cold brewing it somehow doesn’t get bitter when you leave the tea in too long, it stays perfect, so it’s even easier than brewing hot. And I get four large cups out of this, instead of 2 with my kettle. Went with Takeya specifically because I use one of their metal insulated water bottles daily, and love it. Same quality here. I kinda wish it was glass instead of plastic, but at least if I drop this it isn’t going to shatter on my feet. Drawbacks? If I’m being hyper-nitpicky, the way that the filter threads into the lid is kinda tricky. I usually have to try two or three times to get the threads lined up right. Can’t recommend this enough. One of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon in a long time.

  • Leak-proof lid and pour spout
Cons:
  • Cold brew taste may be too mild for some
  • Requires 12-24 hours brewing time

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: It’s a great product. Simple well built easy to use. I’ve only used it twice. First I tasted the coffee at different times. four hours, 6, 8, 12, 24. To see the difference that made. I didn’t like any of it. In fact I couldn’t drink it and threw it all out. Not the coffee makers fault. I just don’t like cold brew. It even makes me feel sick. I drink decaf for the flavor of it. I like a deep rich coffee flavor. I like a medium roast sweet coffee bean espresso. Cold brew just doesn’t taste anything like that. It has its own taste which is very mild and smooth or flavorless depending on your attitude. But it does extract more caffeine from the beans even my decaf beans made coffee too caffeinated for me. It also extracted some other stuff from the beans my espresso maker doesn’t having a totally different effect on that. I didn’t like it. I recommend trying cold brew before getting into making it yourself but my coffee shop doesn’t have decaf cold brew so I had to buy this to see for myself. If you like cold brew this is a great way to go. Aside from changing the time of the brew you can play around with adding paper filters inside the metal filter or filtering the coffee after it’s done but I didn’t mind the slight sludge on the bottom of my coffee cup. So the machine is simple easy to use works well easy to clean. Great if you like cold brew but a completely different type of coffee.

Customer Review: I love this. It is not like pressing a button and coffee comes out, but cold brewing coffee is a bit of a process and should be, because it needs to sit for 12-24 hours. It is pretty easy to clean, simple to use, and the glass jar washes easily and does not stain. Coffee stains like a b….

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: There is an issue with Cold Brew nowadays. Namely – there is a quickly closing gap in between the taste & value of homemade versus store bought. See back in the long long ago, the only place you could get cold brew was that hipster coffee shop near downtown (the one with the good music and the tip jar with the funny sign). Other than that, you had no choice but to make it yourself, and because of its lack of prevalence, you basically wound up making some super janky Toddy Style system with a Home Depot bucket and some cheesecloth because you didn’t know what you were doing. Now, all of that is different. Cold brew has entered the general population and has surged in popularity (with good reason!) There does lie a problem though. People assume, just like traditionally brewed coffee, that its much much cheaper to make it at home. While this is true to an extent, its not nearly the cost benefit that you would see from making a pot at home versus a $3.50 macchiato from the green and white mermaid lady. The other issue is that hot coffee at home is dead simple; add water, add a filter, add grounds, push a button. Cold brew is simple, but not that simple. This leads to the biggest issue with cold brew – making it at home is kinda a hassle, no matter what fancy infusion system you’ve got, and the big boys at the supermarket selling gallons of clear, filtered, smooth cold brew right next to the cream cheese and orange juice do a pretty good job of it.

Customer Review: I have been using this for over a year and cannot imagine going back to any other way of brewing. It is simple, inexpensive, compact, and produces fabulous coffee. The coffee is so great that I take a flask of it with me when I go to restaurants for breakfast. I then order hot water for tea and pour my concentrate in with milk and stevia. I cannot go back to any other brewed coffee as that is bitter and acrid and acidic. This produces clean bright coffee that allows you to enjoy instead of puckering your lips. Using this device is simple and I would watch any of the videos to learn how easy it is to brew. I find for me the metal filter is great and I do not use the paper filters. The idea is to get out the particles that invade other coffee brewers and cause the acid taste. I think that it uses a lot of grinds and felt this could be cost prohibiting, but then I am not an aficionado and went with my regular grocery store generic brand (I use Maxwel House) and the result is great. I am sure that using better coffee or grinding my own, or getting coarse grind coffee would produce an even greater coffee but for me and my daily 2-4 cups this is fabulous. I did see that there is a newer version that is larger and more expensive, but it has more features that would be nice (like a handle, a top that give you some idea of how much coffee to pour per cup, a marked carafe that shows how much water you should add, etc. I am toying with getting another carafe as it would be nice to brew before the carafe is empty as I let mine brew for a minimum of 24 hours and sometimes more than 48 hours. However just knowing how much water to add will do the same as the brewer only needs the carafe to empty. I am playing with that now and just use a measuring cup and it produces the same great tasting product, not weaker. I recommend playing around with the amount of water you use to brew. One last thing, If you are in a restaurant or coffee shop and you see a guy with a flask pouring something into his coffee cup please do not think it is some alcoholic. It is just me enjoying the delicious fruits of this coffee maker!

Complete Buying Guide for Bodum Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a Bodum cold brew coffee maker, consider the capacity that suits your daily coffee consumption. Materials matter too—borosilicate glass is heat-resistant and durable, while BPA-free plastics offer lightweight options. The filter system influences coffee clarity and taste; stainless steel mesh filters preserve oils but may allow some grounds through, while finer filters can provide cleaner results. Ease of cleaning and leak-proof design also contribute to daily convenience.

Budget Planning

Prices for Bodum cold brew makers vary based on size and materials. Pour over models and French presses may cost less, while larger cold brew pitchers with extra features tend to be pricier. Determine your budget and balance between quality and features. Investing in a durable model can save money long term by avoiding replacements and ensuring better coffee quality.
