We put this on the middle rack in the fridge and the spigot easily clears the door, so it doesn’t have to be moved except to clean and refill. I don’t know that I would want much larger a size due to the weight on the glass shelves of the refrigerator. It does seem to be pretty durable and I usually hand wash it and it does fine. I just make sure that I run some water and soapy water through the spigot part. Definitely a good value for what you’re getting. I wanted to go with glass so that I didn’t have hot tea going into plastic and potentially releasing PFAS. Metal top lid can be a little tricky to get aligned, but there’s no need to necessarily over tighten it. I’ve actually come to really like the Zulay products because they are of a good quality.”

Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove you hand with each turn is frustrating. Fir someone new to what cold coffee brew represents, this is a good starter pot, or I frequently used pot.The instruction page presented a problem. Simple answer: go online and get detailed instructions on just how to make cold coffee. Now, the simple instructions manuel is a fine reminder.Packaging handled the trip thru shipping very well. It is glass. It was double packed.There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter.The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.”

It works well, but like any metal filter, the very fine coffee grains make their way through the metal and into your water. This makes the coffee murky and muddy. A simple solution is to filter your cold brew, once it is finished, through a paper coffee filter to make it nice and clear. It is an extra step and expected when using cheesecloth or, in this case, a metal filter for cold brew. All in all, this cold brew maker/pitcher works well. I made my first pitcher of cold brew and it came out great.”

It has its own taste wich is very mild and smooth or flavorless depending on your attitude. But it does extract more caffeine from the beans even my decaf beans made coffee to caffeinated for me. It also extracted some other stuff from the beans my espresso maker doesn’t having a totally different effect on that Ididn’t like.I recommend trying cold brew before getting into making it yourself but my coffee shop doesn’t have decaf cold brew so I had to buy this to see for myself.If you like cold brew this is a great way to go. Aside from changing the time of the brew you can pla around with adding paper filters inside the metal filter or filtering the the coffee after its downe but I didn’t mind the slight sludge on the bottom of my coffee cup.So the machine is simple easy to use works well easy to clean. I have a nespresso, a kitchenaid espresso maker, 3 french presses, two pour overs, and a few other various ways of making coffee short of straight up injecting it into my veins. Over time however, I found that the cold brew method is one of the easiest ways to get consistently delicious coffee. It’s less bitter and has a smoother taste over all. I wanted to save on baggies and trash over all so I ordered this cold brewer that comes with a metal mesh. The only trash is the coffee grounds, which is super easy to reuse or throw away without much mess. Since it takes at least 8-12 hours (overnight) to brew you also know you’ve gotten all the caffeine you can get out of those beans. It will brew about 3-5 days worth of coffee, depending on how much coffee you drink per day. The glass is VERY sturdy and the metal mesh is not flimsy either. Once the overnight brew is finished, I will usually take the grounds out, wash the mesh, and enjoy the smooth sippings. I will say, this is COLD BREW so, it’s really only for people who enjoy cold/iced coffee. It also makes a great pitcher since you can remove the metal mesh and pour in lemonade in the summer or any other drink you can make. That makes it a great multipurpose product for the price. It’s also not too big and will fit in the door of my fridge. Overall, if you are a coffee fan and a lover of cold coffee, this is a 10/10 purchase.”
