Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I felt like this product deserved one. This is an excellent cold brew maker. It is very easy to use and has a great 1,200 mL capacity. The plastic construction is more versatile (less fragile) than other brewers made from glass. The filtration system eliminates the sludge that other brew systems leave. The packaging is very thoughtful – a scoop and sponge are included. The scoop is easily overlooked, but it is the perfect size to clean the used grounds out of the filter. The sponge is an unexpectedly useful form factor to help with cleaning. Hopefully the sponges can be ordered separately, since sponges don’t last forever. Some minor downsides:Cleaning is moderately easy, but the only component that is recommended for the dishwasher is the pitcher (which is also easiest to clean by hand). All of the other elements are recommended for hand washing, which doesn’t take long. The way the filter is configured, the pitcher will work most effectively if stored (at least for part of the brew cycle) on its side. However, there is a vent in the lid that is prone to leaking when the pitcher is stored on its side. Brewing upright can lead to the top grounds not getting exposed to water.Unfortunately, one of the pieces broke during routine use after a couple of months: the pitcher lid is attached with a couple of hinges that snap the lid into place on the pitcher. One of the hinge attachments broke. I contacted customer service and a replacement pitcher arrived four days later. I’d recommend being careful with these hinge attachments as they seem prone to break. At the same time, the customer service is very responsive and suggests that they take support of their products seriously.”

Customer Review: “I’ve tried making cold brew a couple different ways, most recently with Ball jars and a metal filter. This Maestri brewer does a better job than other methods I’ve tried. No coffee ground sludge in the bottom, easy to clean grounds out of the filter, and easy to pour liquid out of the pitcher without removing the filter / grounds. The brew is pretty strong and tastes great. I have found that sometimes air gets trapped in the pitcher when I’m filling it, and that can effect the brewing slightly. When this happens, the coffee grounds don’t seem to get fully saturated right away, so the brewing time takes longer. 24 hours of brew time seems to be the sweet spot for my taste preference, which is strong.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Love these! They’re perfect for my cold brew. I fill out about 2/3 and use two bags in my 2 qt pitcher since I like mine strong. The bags are very well made and you could easily use them as a spice sachet in cooking. It makes my life so much easier not having to clean coffee grounds. I do wish they had a slightly larger mouth just to make it easier to add coffee grounds but otherwise they’re the perfect size.”

Customer Review: “These were super easy to use, they left no detectable coffee grinds or residue in my cold brew, and same for when I used loose tea leaves to make cold brew tea. Clean-up was a breeze, like removing a big used tea bag and just throwing it away. The results were low-acid coffee and tea that tasted great. I use it with an ‘Oxo’ brand 1.78 liter screw-on lid Tritan plastic jar from Amazon. Years ago I used Toddy Cold Brew system for a few years, but that was a time-consuming, messy routine, and I just gave it up. When I saw these filter bags on Amazon, I looked on YouTube for videos that showed how to fill the bags and leave room for water to circulate among the coffee grinds or loose tea leaves, maybe using two half-filled small bags in one jar to make a concentrated brew to dilute with filtered water later to minimize storage space required in the fridge for the finished cold brew coffee or tea. I chose this brand because the description indicates they are made from all-natural fibers, and I assume they are therefore free of forever microplastics and harmful chemicals.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I have several OXO products and they are typically well-made, effective at what they are designed to do and very easy to use. Have to admit that at this point, if I need a kitchen gadget, I’ll almost always default to the OXO product, if I have an option.I’ve been making cold brew for a couple of years now, using a 64 ounce mason jar and that method works well, though it has some issues. I’d been eyeing this cold brew coffee maker for a while and when I saw it on sale, I went for it.After only one time using it, I can already say it’s worth the purchase. Very easy to set up and use. Very well-designed, as is typical with OXO products. Very easy to clean, which was always a pain with the mason jar and its relatively narrow mouth. And the coffee tastes great! The best part is eliminating the filtering process that usually took a good 15 minutes or so with my old method. With this maker, I just flip the switch, go away and turn on my computer and in 10 minutes I come back to a carafe full of tasty coffee. No more struggling with the dumping of the liquid through the filter, while trying to avoid splattering huge chunks of wet grounds all over the kitchen counter.I’d noticed that my acid reflux was definitely not as active and pronounced when I drank cold brew coffee rather than hot coffee and I’m pretty much sold on moving forward with cold brew from this point on. Very happy I finally made the purchase and, as noted before, very happy to have stuck with another solid OXO product.”

Customer Review: “Husband loves cold brew and bought this for him as a Christmas present. It’s easy to use and he loves it. I like the pot, reminds me a a chemistry lab beaker. Doesn’t take up too much counter space.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “These filters really are tough. I use them primarily in a 5-gallon Toddy but also for larger-scale cold brew batches in a brite tank with a beer brewing company. We put 6 pounds of coffee in, zip tie them shut, and toss them in with over 60 gallons of water. Despite the fact that they’re paper, I have yet to find a bag with a busted seal or tear (other than from careless use with a knife while cutting the zip ties). The cold brew also turns out fantastic, restraining just enough but allowing soluables and oils through.”

Customer Review: “These filters are so sturdy to use for making my cold brew!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I typically make cold brew in the summer with my OXO. So in full disclosure, since it’s the end of December and I’m in the Northern Hemisphere, I have not tried actually making a batch with these filters, instead sticking to hot beverages. However, I took one out and put it side by side (and on top of) the OXO brand one and they are completely indistinguishable from each other in terms of shape, size, quality. The package is subdivided into I think 5 packs of 100 each, so it’s kind of nice that the rest of them stay tidy. I will look forward to giving these a try when it warms up enough that cold brew sounds like my cup of tea (ha,ha).Something review-readers should know about Vine reviews: Yes, we receive the product at no cost in exchange for an honest review, but 1) we do receive a tax form for “Non-Employee Compensation” reflecting taxable income based on the listed price of the items, and 2) I was instructed not to review items that I receive defective or damaged as it “may not be the fault of the seller/manufacturer” so ratings heavily influenced by Vine reviews may not account for a lack of product reliability. Just something to consider, as I know reviews guide my purchases and I appreciate taking all factors into consideration..”

Customer Review: “I’ve owned my OXO Good Grips 32 Ounce Cold Brew Coffee Maker since July 2017. It originally came with a few paper filters which worked great, but I never bought more after I ran out due to the price (about $7 for 50, or $0.14 apiece!). So I’ve been making due without them. Problem is that even with a coarse grind, there is a good amount of fine particles (sediment) that still end up in the final product. I’ve just been ‘living with it’.Then I came across these paper coffee filters. They are a perfect match! The fit is spot-on for both the 32-ounce and compact models, so there’s no shifting or folding needed—they drop right in and work exactly as intended.I really appreciate that they’re made from natural, unbleached pulp. It’s nice knowing they’re biodegradable and compostable, and they don’t add any unwanted taste to the coffee. The filtration quality is excellent, effectively trapping fine grounds and excess oils while still allowing a smooth, clean cold brew to come through. The 500-count package is an outstanding value and should last a long time, even with frequent cold brew batches. If you own an OXO cold brew maker and want reliable, high-quality disposable filters, these are a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I have a love/hate relationship with Ninja products – I really love them. But I strongly dislike the warranty. And I hate the lifespan. Once they are done – they’re done. I have had a couple of Ninja blenders that surpass the crushing and blending power of my 30 year old beehive Oster – but their life expectancy is about five years. This was a very strong consideration in purchasing a $200 coffee maker. I am not a coffee connoisseur – I typically drink one cup daily – very strong with cream only. But it has to be a perfect cup. I want to enjoy every single sip.I found a Ninja coffee system, brand new, at a thrift store locally for $15. The coffee was amazing. Perfect every single time. When my son moved to his own place, I gifted it to him and started researching one for me. Since I am the only coffee drinker in the house now (no, I’m not crying because he’s gone, don’t be silly) I considered a Keurig. But I honestly do not like the quality of the coffee from those machines – have tried several but it is not at all to my liking. However, the amount of wasted coffee I was dealing with really started bothering me and decided I needed an option for one cup. This machine is really perfect. The one cup option that I thought I settled for because it is a K cup option turned out to produce an amazing cup of coffee. I THINK it is because the Ninja makes three holes into the K cup rather than the standard one hole other machines use? It may also be the water temperature gets super hot. I do not know, but I really appreciate the depth of flavor from the K cup option on this machine.Another nice option that I never thought I’d want is the frother. It seems silly to me, but one comment in the Ninja manual stated that a cold cup with cream steals the heat from the coffee and changes the flavor – so I toyed around with the frother, using the microwave for 30 seconds and then blending the coffee and cream – its fantastic. This week I had a fever and opted for tea over coffee – I remembered the hot water option on this machine – it gave me two options – hot water and boil – I selected boil and my tea was steeping in no time at the perfect temperature. I absolutely appreciate that the water runs through a separate dispenser so my tea did not have any coffee residue or discoloration or flavor. I plan now to retire my stand alone boiler. The reservoir on the Ninja is adequate for my one cup daily – it is very easy to remove and fill or even fill while in place – I prefer the side option, but like that it can be attached to the back to save space. I don’t think that would make much difference because this machine is very big – it does not fit under my standard cabinets.I bought this as a birthday gift for myself and if that last son hadn’t left at the same time, I likely wouldn’t have spent that much money on myself – but I was pitiful. I am extremely happy I did because the cost is worth it. I am very hopeful this machine will last past my 5 year expectation.Since I do not purchase coffee daily, I cannot state that I have saved money – I mean, I have because I’m not making half pots just for myself and wasting most of that – but if I were a coffee shop customer, I would absolutely think I’d save money with the frother thing and the quality of the coffee – It is really a great machine and I very highly recommend you purchase it. I was debating between the Keurig Duo Pro and this machine and given the quality of the K cup coffee from this, I haven’t once looked back – there is no way in my mind the Keurig would produce the same quality cup from the K cups.Enjoy”

Customer Review: “Had been a Keurig user for nearly 20 years. This Ninja dual coffee maker is a game changer. Love love love it. Makes a great cup of coffee using either single serve or the carafe. Very easy to operate. Very user friendly. They thought of everything from the strength of the coffee, the easy lift on the water dispenser, the drip shut off so the plate stays clean after you are done brewing, controls that are simple to operate, piping hot coffee, self clean feature. I cannot say enough good things about it. It leaves Keurig in the dust. If you are on the fence, just do it, you won’t regret buying this machine.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’m actually using these off label as espresso filter papers, not in an OXO cold brew maker.I have a standard 58 mm portafilter, and these filters are a literal drop‑in fit in my espresso basket, no trimming or cutting required. I even own a circle cutter so I can custom‑cut other papers, but with these I don’t need it at all. Before this, the most cost‑effective option I’d found was cutting down Aeropress filters to fit my espresso baskets. That worked, but it was extra time and effort. These are better for a few reasons:- Perfect size for 58 mm espresso baskets (no cutting needed)- Unbleached paper, with no noticeable paper taste- Cost‑effective for the quantity (500 count)If you’re reading this and wondering whether these will work as espresso filter paper for a 58 mm portafilter: yes, they do, and they save you the hassle of cutting Aeropress or other papers to size. For that use, I’d definitely recommend them.I can’t comment on performance in the OXO cold brew maker, but for espresso they’re a great fit and very convenient.”

Customer Review: “Covers the sifter part just exactly, but provides no slack because of that. If you put the ground coffee in the Oxo basket and shake it to level the grounds, the filter might misalign and your coffee will taste off and powdery. Works fine on top of the coffee sandwich if you’re making soup though, but you’ll still want to use an Aeropress filter on the bottom.”

Customer Review: “I’ve been using the Toddy cold brew system for the past 5 years and until I learned about these filter bags I was doing so using just the insert filter. These filter bags are a game changer, in fact they should be included with the brew system kit.No more clogged filters, drains quickly. Even the initial loading and filling process is easier as you don’t have to worry about agitating the coffee too much and having the fines clog the insert filter. The filter bag catches all but the finest of the particles, most of which get trapped in the insert filter.Enjoy !!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “It’s a great product. Simple well built easy to use. I’ve only used it twice.First I tasted the coffe at different times. four hours, 6, 8, 12, 24. To see the difference that made.I didn’t like any of it. In fact I couldn’t drink it and threw it all out.Not the coffee makers fault. I just don’t like cold brew. It even makes me feel sick.I drink decaf for the flavor of it. I like a deep rich coffe flavor. I like a medium rroast sweet coffe bean espresso.Cold bew just doesn’t taste anything like that. Itt has its own taste wich is very mild and smooth or flavorless depending on your attitude. But it does extract more caffeine from the beans even my decaf beans made coffee to caffeinated for me. It also extracted some other stuff from the beans my espresso maker doesn’t having a totally different effect on that Ididn’t like.I recommend trying cold brew before getting into making it yourself but my coffee shop doesn’t have decaf cold brew so I had to buy this to see for myself. If you like cold brew this is a great way to go. Aside from changing the time of the brew you can pla around with adding paper filters inside the metal filter or filtering the the coffee after its downe but I didn’t mind the slight sludge on the bottom of my coffee cup.So the machine is simple easy to use works well easy to clean. Great if you like cold brew buts a completely different type of coffee.”

Customer Review: “I love this. It is not like pressing a button and coffee comes out, but cold brewing coffee is a bit of a process and should be, because it needs to sit for 12-24 hours. It is pretty easy to clean, simple to use, and the glass jar washes easily and does not stain. Coffee stains like a b….”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I love these strainers so much! I use them with my small Toddy cold brew maker and they fit perfectly. They hole the 5 cups of ground perfectly. They also block any coffee grounds from falling through too keep the cold brew smooth. They’re easy to clean and save so much money over having to purchase paper filters.”

Customer Review: “Update: 30 Jan 2020. Best buy ever! We’ve used reusable cheese bags for other filtration purposes but never thought to use it for cold brew until we got tired of clogged filters. This brand was the only one we could find that fit the Toddy Cold Brew just right. And its good, really good. It does the filtration in a a little more than a minute with hardly any residue at the bottom of the Toddy or clogged filters. We still use the filter at the bottom of the Toddy to give double; its also a habit. We use the bag about 3 times in a fortnight to make coffee. The bag can be emptied and is easy to clean. We use Dawn dish washing soap to hand rinse the bag . We also rinse it in vinegar before final wash in water, as that helps rid some of the staining. The bag does become a slightly darker shade from repeated use, but dos not affect quality or usability.(Prev)Disclaimer: it’s only our first use, so cannot tell how durable it will be.We have been using the Toddy Cold brew system for a long time for our coffee, and the most frustrating thing was the filter which seemed to clog and the drip took a LOOOONG time. Also, cleaning the filter was no fun. It never felt clean enough.Came across this looking for a good quality cheesecloth/ meshbag of the size that fits into the Toddy system.Great buy.It fits perfectly into the Toddy lining it ,(first fix the stop and the filter). Follow Toddy process to brew coffee/ tea and drain by opening the stop. I loosely tied the drawstring just because it was there. No dregs, the coffee literally pours out and you have it bottled and chilling in a few minutes. Empty the bag, wash in warm water with Dawn soap and let dry. Voila, ready for next use. Cleaning the Toddy is also easier. It is also a great sustainable and cheaper option than single use filter bags. Before first use wash in warm water and dry.”

Complete Buying Guide for Cold Brew Coffee Maker With Paper Filter

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a cold brew coffee maker with paper filter, it’s important to look at key features such as filter quality, capacity, ease of cleaning, and durability. The filter should be fine enough to trap coffee grounds but allow smooth flow. The pitcher or container material matters too — Tritan plastic offers durability and shatter resistance, while glass provides elegance but requires careful handling. Also, consider whether the filters are disposable or reusable, as this affects convenience and environmental impact.

Budget Planning

Cold brew coffee makers with paper filters come in a range of prices, from affordable disposable filter packs to premium multi-functional machines. Set a budget that suits your brewing frequency and preferences. For casual brewers, a simple pitcher with disposable filters can be cost-effective. If you brew often or want more control and convenience, investing in a durable brewer with reusable filters or specialty features might be worth it.

Final Thoughts

Finding the right cold brew coffee maker with paper filter is about matching your lifestyle and taste preferences. Whether you value ease of use, sustainability, or batch size, there’s a product that fits your needs. Remember, good cold brew is a slow process but yields a delicious cup that’s smooth and refreshing. With the right equipment, you can enjoy cafe-quality cold brew right at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are paper filters better than metal or cloth filters for cold brew?

A: Paper filters generally produce a cleaner cup with less sediment and oils, resulting in a smoother, less bitter cold brew. Metal or cloth filters may allow some fine particles and oils through, which can add body but also sediment.

Q: How long should I steep coffee in a cold brew coffee maker with paper filter?

A: The typical steeping time is between 12 to 24 hours in the refrigerator. The exact time depends on your taste preference for strength and smoothness.

Q: Can I reuse paper filters for cold brew?

A: Disposable paper filters are designed for single use to ensure clean filtration. Reusing them may lead to clogging and poor extraction. However, reusable cloth or mesh filters are available for multiple uses.

Q: What grind size is best for cold brew with paper filter?

A: A coarse grind is ideal for cold brew. It prevents over-extraction and clogging of the paper filter, resulting in a balanced and smooth coffee.

Q: How do I clean my cold brew coffee maker with paper filter?

A: Dispose of the used paper filter and grounds. Rinse the pitcher with warm water and mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh detergents to preserve the taste of future brews.
