Plastic lids are hard enough to use on glass jar. Having a handle in the way so that you have to remove you hand with each turn is frustrating. It is glass. It was double packed.There were many choices of cold brewing containers. Considering the cleaning process I go thru with my automatic tea pot, I opted for simple. Simple is very easy to clean with no over-engineered top to take apart to clean. Small enough for refrigerator or counter.The gaskets didn’t look sturdy to me, but after use and washing, I think they will be just fine. It’s hard for the plastic lid to screw on and off because of the handle, but I succeed. I use a standard tube sponge to clean the filter. Works better.”

It comes with two different sizes of rubber gasket and I cant use either one. The lid will not line up with the threading on the jar(s) if there is a gasket in there. This is a minor issue, except i have a small fridge and it would be nice to sometimes store the bottle laying down. I then add the hot tea directly to the container. It works great and it will hold the tea for a couple weeks before it gets bad. It fits well in the refrigerator and doesn’t take up too much space. I don’t know that I would want much larger a size due to the weight on the glass shelves of the refrigerator. It does seem to be pretty durable and I usually hand wash it and it does fine. I wanted to go with glass so that I didn’t have hot tea going into plastic and potentially releasing PFAS. There is a small orange wing-nut piece that you use to tighten the bold on the inside. Didn’t see it until after I used long-ha died person to tighten the nut. USE the orange wing-nut thing. The instructions don’t tell you how much water or coffee to use so I had a little experimenting to do. Make sure nozzle is in the “SIDE position to the right. I know this because my water went all over the floor. 1. Put 8 scoops of coffee into the filter and put it into the jar. 2. Add water to just below the neck of the jar over the coffee. 3. Screw on lid tight and put in fridge overnight. 4. Unscrew the lid and gently pull the filter just to stir things up and to mix the contents. 5. Drink and enjoy. I have a nespresso, a kitchenaid espresso maker, 3 french presses, two pour overs, and a few other various ways of making coffee short of straight up injecting it into my veins. Over time however, I found that the cold brew method is one of the easiest ways to get consistently delicious coffee. It’s less bitter and has a smoother taste over all. I wanted to save on baggies and trash over all so I ordered this cold brewer that comes with a metal mesh. The only trash is the coffee grounds, which is super easy to reuse or throw away without much mess. Since it takes at least 8-12 hours (overnight) to brew you also know you’ve gotten all the caffeine you can get out of those beans. It will brew about 3-5 days worth of coffee, depending on how much coffee you drink per day. The glass is VERY sturdy and the metal mesh is not flimsy either. Once the overnight brew is finished, I will usually take the grounds out, wash the mesh, and enjoy the smooth sippings. I will say, this is COLD BREW so, it’s really only for people who enjoy cold/iced coffee. It also makes a great pitcher since you can remove the metal mesh and pour in lemonade in the summer or any other drink you can make. That makes it a great multipurpose product for the price. It’s also not too big and will fit in the door of my fridge. Overall, if you are a coffee fan and a lover of cold coffee, this is a 10/10 purchase.”
