I read about the Espro’s unique double filter baskets in NYT Wirecutter and decide to retire my current aging French press and try the Espro. It definitely works as advertised; it makes excellent sludge-free coffee. It is a bit more difficult to clean because there are two baskets to wash and rinse, but they click on and off with ease, so it not objectionable. The stainless double-walled version that I purchased is also very attractive and keeps a full pot of coffee warm until it is finished. All in all, I am very pleased.”

Customer Review: “This is the French press. I used the regular ones with the mesh screen filter, they work OK. Then tried the ESPRO, the dual screen and silicone seal make your coffee 100% better, by simply preventing the fine grounds from getting into your drink. French press taste, none of the grit. It looks great, easy to clean, easy to use. I use a scale to weigh the water and grounds. There is a line inside the glass to show the fill height, there is a small arrow on the lid to align the pouring screen window. I no longer use my Mochamaster drip coffee maker. If ESPRO came out with an updated model for 2026, and the handle was improved a bit less flimsy, and the lid orientation arrow was a bit easier to see, I’d buy a new one! Be careful with the glass in the dishwasher it’s fragile!!”

The glass is easy to clean, I have had it for a few months and I did read some reviews it was very fragile but just treat it like it’s glass. The walls and handle aren’t too thin and the press is nice and solid, it screws apart to clean. The spout can be drippy but only if you try to pour super fast.”

Customer Review: “i looooove how this looks on my coffee bar ! i really wanted a double walled glass french press, and this one is gorgeous and durable. any spilling from the spout talked about in other reviews isn’t an issue at all if you just pour slow. i love it !!the only problem for me is that the filter/center rod is loose ? it won’t stay put above the coffee grounds when it’s steeping, but sinks down into the water. this is a deal breaker for me because as much as i love visually appealing coffee tools, i care even more about a good finished product. i will say the coffee is still good, but this issue is a defect and i’m aiming to continually perfect my coffee making. i’m very sad to be returning this because i had high hopes and love how pretty it is !”

That said, the double mesh filter does a great job keeping the grounds out of the cup and I haven’t noticed much grit in my coffee.
