My initial impression that it was harder to clean than the Bodum one was wrong. Actually, it’s easier to clean and I never have to worry about breaking it. My annoyance that it didn’t keep the coffee as hot as other reviewers promised (whoever said it keeps coffee hot four hours is lying) has totally faded because the coffee is delicious. It’s very sturdy and retains heat well, and all parts function perfectly for a very rich, delicious cup of coffee. It looks nice too, just exactly as pictured, and the wooden stirring spoon is a nice little bonus. I add a little bit of hot water first and then pour it out, just to start the interior out hot (not sure how important that step is, but it’s on the instruction page), add some coarsely ground coffee, a bit of hot water (around 195-200 F) to wet and bloom the ground coffee for about 30 seconds, then add the rest of the water and stir, put the lid on, and then after about 4 minutes I plunge down. Coffee is very rich using this method, and I find that this French Press retains the flavor and using this method, I get a smooth flavor too. I don’t really use the thermometer, as my electric water kettle already has a digital one, but it is a nice feature that could come in handy for those who prefer it. I bought this particular French Press based on quality and high reviews, and I’m really pleased with it. It’s very well worth the price.”

Customer Review: “I love this french press. I was previously using a glass one. I don’t have a dishwasher and well water is used for dish washing. Therefore, the glass always seemed to be a bit cloudy. I had to fill it with vinegar to get it clear. The Stainless is much easier to clean and the coffee oil/residue doesn’t seem to bind as much (this could be my imagination). At any rate, it is easy to use, extremely attractive and cleans up quickly and thoroughly. I would definitely purchase this again if anything happens to this one, as long as it lasts me at least a few years. But, I expect it will last much longer than that. This French press is a good size for making my morning coffee supply of two relatively large cups and is sturdy. My one complaint is that switching the lid over to pour can be a bit tricky given that the stainless steel heats up. I doubt it will replace my daily glass French press, but it’s a great durable item for camping or taking with you on the go to make your brew when you get where you’re going. It’s solid and sturdy and I doubt it’ll be worn out by the time I’m worn out for good! All in all, this is a nice French press.”
