Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is a really great coffee maker, I just add coffee and water and then set it to forget it. The next morning I have coffee. I chose this because of the simplicity. I am not a coffee drinker, I drink coffee for the energy not for the enjoyment. I see that some people say that the coffee is weak tasting despite adding a ton of grounds and waiting for more than the recommended time. This may happen when not all the coffee grounds are saturated, I use a chopstick to stir the grounds around to make sure that every ground is touched by the water. If you just add the water in quickly, some grounds in the center or bottom will become packed and never touch water at all. Some people are getting a sludge at the bottom of their coffee. The recommendation is to use coarse ground. At that point if you’re still getting sludge I recommend to add the grounds to the mesh strainer and then shake it over the sink. That way you are forcing the grounds that are fine enough to pass through the strainer to pass through before you even start the brewing process. I can’t speak for the taste, whether it’s weak, strong, acidic or bitter, i have no idea. I think that all coffee tastes bad, I add a ton of milk to the point where I don’t notice the coffee. I don’t know why people are saying that it’s easy to clean. Because I spend a quite a few minutes running water on the outside of the strainer to get the remaining coffee grounds out. That might be due to me using pre ground coffee and they’re smaller, so easier to get stuck inside the strainer? But honestly that’s not even a deal breaker. The design is so sleek and simple and I hate burning hot coffee that I just can’t imagine having any other coffee maker. I just tried it with actual beans that I ground myself instead of the dunkin donuts preground coffee. The taste is immaculate. Well not really, I still don’t enjoy coffee all that much. But the less acidic taste is definitely apparent, went down smoothly. Definitely buy your own beans to grind or at least buy some higher quality preground coffee, not dunkin donuts.”

Customer Review: “I started to feel ripped off spending $4+ every morning for a basic cold brew that was mostly ice at the cafe I frequent, so I bought this a few months ago to see if I could get a brew just as good at home and it did not disappoint! I feel like it paid for itself in a week and was 110% worth the investment! I use coarse grounds specifically meant for cold brew and a little bit of ground does leak through the filter but I don’t find it bothersome at all. The particles are so fine that I usually drink them all up. It’s not like sipping on sand or anything. I brew about two pots a week and use a little more than half a cup of grounds each time (about 9-10 tbsp) It’s been two months and I haven’t used a whole pound of coffee grounds yet, so I estimate $12.99 gets me roughly 50+ cups of coffee! The pot is an investment, but if I get tired of cold brew I figure I can brew tea or fruit infused water or whatever trendy brew comes around next. I brew in the fridge for 48 hours before removing the filter, though usually I steal a cup after 24 hours and just refill the water and put it back in the fridge. I also fill it alllll the way to the top, not just to the 32 ounce line. It doesn’t make a concentrate, but it does make a strong brew that I drink black, just poured over ice. I find it extremely easy to clean, except the filter. I don’t bother putting any of it in the dishwasher, just give it a quick hand wash and then brew again. I would have liked the filter to have holes to the bottom because it would make it easier to clean but overall I do really love that there’s virtually no waste, no paper filters, no k-cups, nothing, so I try to focus on that while I’m smacking the filter over the sink, trying to get the bottom layer of grounds out! All in all, I’d buy this again in a heartbeat.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “First off, I’m not a daily coffee drinker, more like a once or twice a week after dinner coffee drinker, I drink it for the flavor more than a ‘have to’ kind of thing. That being said, I need to have great tasting coffee. I have quite the collection of different coffee making apparatuses, from simple stainless steel pour overs (surprisingly tasty coffee comes from those), to French presses, a couple of different cold brew devices, a couple of different Moka pots, and an AeroPress. I also tend to grind my own beans. I love making coffee in each of these coffee making devices, but at this time, my absolute favorite is the Oxo Rapid Brewer. I find it makes pretty good coffee, and the ease of use and cleanup afterward is also a major perk. Even though I really enjoy coffee in all of my other coffee devices, I have been known to want a cup of coffee but chose to not make it only because of the fact that it was either going to take too much time/effort to get it set up and/or the cleanup afterward. Enter the Oxo Rapid brewer. I love the fact that it can make hot or cold brew, and the cold brew takes only a few more minutes than the hot. I have been experimenting with adding a dash of cinnamon to the coffee bed before tamping, I’m going to try cocoa powder next. One thing I do that is a bit extra, since I have an AeroPress, I have lots of those paper filters for it, I do use one in my Oxo Rapid brewer, only to make it easier to clean out and it helps keep the metal filter from getting clogged. I don’t know for a fact that it will get clogged, I’m only going by past experience with stainless steel pour over devices, they have a very fine metal filter and eventually the very fine coffee grounds do slow the coffee from going through. I am doing this in a preemptive manner. I also reuse the paper filter a few times, I did that with the AeroPress (don’t judge) and it works just fine, I rinse it and reuse it a few times with no issues. If I remember correctly, the maker of the AeroPress said in an experiment to see how many uses he could get from one, he got 100 uses out of 1 paper filter, I wouldn’t go that far, but I see nothing wrong with reusing it a few times. Back to the regularly scheduled program, I find that the Oxo Rapid brewer works great for me, it makes tasty coffee, it’s easy to use, easy to learn, easy to clean. It makes a concentrate which I use for a larger cup of coffee, I like to add either half and half or milk, some water and a bit of maple syrup for sweetness. I have found it makes just the right amount for me, but if need be I could share or since it brews so quickly, I could easily make 2 batches back to back. It doesn’t leak, it makes more than enough for me, the unit feels sturdy, I’m not concerned about dropping it. Cleaning it is a breeze, I just knock out the coffee grounds, rescuing the paper filter, I rinse everything and let it dry in my dish drain. It is super stealthy too, no worries about disturbing anyone if I decide I want a quick cupper in the middle of the night. My only ‘issue’ is I purchased a few bottles of coffee concentrate just before ordering this, it’s hard to decide which I want to use, I am going to have to make myself use up my coffee concentrate (I don’t want to waste them, they are good too). I am enjoying using this method to make my own coffee concentrate, maybe I’ll hang on to one of the empty bottles and refill it with the brewed coffee concentrate. If you are on the fence about buying this, don’t be, it’s worth it, the price is right and the method is fun and makes a tasty brew.”

Customer Review: “We have an expensive coffee and espresso maker. However, for flavor and for mouth-feel, the little OXO makes better coffee. The process is straightforward, and it doesn’t require precise proportions of coffee to water to make great coffee. Small and light-weight, it cleans up easily. Would I buy it again? Yes. Reasonably priced? Yes – actually, its price is so reasonable, I doubted that it could be this good. I’ve used it for months, including camping, and it looks like new. This beats my AeroPress in so many ways.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Been meaning to post this sooner, but I got to busy using and loving it. I love cold brew coffee and have always been willing to do the 12-24 hour preparation. When I saw this, claiming to make a legitimate, quality cold brew coffee in 20 minutes or so, I was at best doubtful. Considering how much I’d spent on other systems, along with their required accessories, and the extreme amount of money at that coffee place with Siren, not Mermaid, on its cups. What did I have to lose? Turns out, I get to lose those trips to that place and make my own coffee at home. This machine is amazing and makes some of the best cold brew I’ve tasted and does it in 20 minutes. Another feature I love, although it adds 12-24 hours is to prepare a batch on the Extreme setting. 25 minutes to brew and then into the refrigerator. Probably what I love the most is I can use any of my coffees (I’ll go from regular to different flavors – like peppermint mocha year round) and can make a pot of it cold. I’ve tried similar competing devices, but keep coming back to Vinci.”

Customer Review: “Not only is this the best cold brew product I have ever purchased, the customer service exceeded my expectations. Bought as a Christmas gift, used once, and the product malfunctioned. Without hesitation, they got back to my message in a day and sent me a new one!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I will start out by saying that I’ve been making my own cold brew for approximately 2 years now. Prior to this, I was ‘wasting’ a lot of money buying cold brew on a nearly daily basis. I love a cold glass of cold brew in the summer after dinner. It’s usually my dessert! I also love the taste of coffee, and I only add a little milk (sometimes half/half) to my cold brew, no sweetener. I have been more than happy with my County Line Mason Jar cold brew maker. I’ve had it for two years and never once had coffee grounds in my finish product. It makes an extremely strong cold brew. Only downfall is the 14 plus hours to make it! There have been many of nights that I wanted to kick myself for forgetting to make it when it ran out! Enter the ‘Dorothy’! What a fantastic idea, I thought. I wondered if it would work. I read through the reviews, and depending on what you want to believe, some say yes, other said no. Here is MY opinion after using this for about a month now. It does work! I can say that what I’ve made in this rapid brewer has tasted fantastic, and I have not had any grounds in my finished product (although it can be a bit cloudy/silt). I think that silt is a problem more with the French Press, which this is like! I have never had an issue getting the ‘tornado’, or whirlpool to form. I can say that when using filtered refrigerator water that you will have to double (possibly triple) the amount of time needed to make the coffee as strong as you would with room temperature water. I have also noticed a difference in cold brew strength depending on how fast the coffee is introduced to the ‘tornado’. The instructions say to add the coffee slowly, so definitely do that! I have now been filling the carafe slightly below the max line (using refrigerated water), using 2/3 cup of coffee grinds (store purchased, but not freshly ground), and running this for an hour. I’ve gotten into the habit of starting this process while I’m cooking dinner. Bottom line here is that I don’t think you can obtain ‘concentrate strength’ cold brew with the Dorothy, but filled close to the max will give you more than enough for two large glasses of cold brew. And it will still taste as good (more coffee, less milk/creamer) in the rapid brewer. As long as the instructions are followed, I don’t find it ‘watered down’ at all, as some reviews have stated. My last batch was quite strong (1 hour spinning). Deviating from the instructions (like when I just dumped the entire 2/3 cup of coffee in at once), and you might experience different results. My biggest knock on this product would be the fragile glass carafe. Be careful!! I actually broke the first one in a week (my mistake, as it was bumped off the counter). I can’t say that any glass would have survived that fall on a wooden floor. To order a replacement carafe from Presto would be $20, plus $9 shipping, so I bought another new Dorothy for $35 (Prime, no shipping). Now I have spare parts. But this carafe feels very fragile and I use extreme caution even washing it (I hand wash all parts even through it states that it is dishwasher safe). That brings me to my second criticism, cleaning the Dorothy. Let’s just say it is messy! Coffee grinds all over the place trying to get the press part/plunger off of the stirring cup. I’ve learned to use a plastic bag (grocery store bag or bread bag) and place the plunger, with stirring cup still attached, in the bag and release the stirring cup from the plunger (which once you know how, it’s easy to release) all in the bag. Yes you have some liquid in the bag, but this keeps most of the grounds from going down into the plumbing. I just have a paper towel or two in the bag to absorb the liquid. I enjoy having fresh cold brew that I can make relatively quick, so for that, I recommend the Dorothy. I will continue to use my old cold brew maker, but definitely have room in my kitchen for the Dorothy! My daughter also thinks it’s so cool to watch, and she doesn’t drink cold brew, but offers to make it for me!! Bonus!”

Customer Review: “I don’t know where this has been all my life, I stumbled onto it while looking at other rapid coldbrew devices that are much more expensive and utilize a pump. When I saw this I almost overlooked it because how good could something so inexpensive be? but I’m so glad that I ended up buying it. Instead of having to wait overnight for my cold brew to be ready I can get really good quality brew in under an hour, it’s pretty easy to clean and only has one exposed moving part. Brewing your coffee is super easy, just get the tornado going in the water and sprinkle in your coffee, when it’s done getting your coffee out is as easy as a french press. It’s basically like magic, I just wish it was a little bigger because I’m not the only coffee drinker in the house. Like the title says I bought a second one just in case anything happens to the first, but after more than a month of daily usage its holding up just fine.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I wanted a cold brew coffee maker after discovering just how much less bitter cold brewed coffee tastes because of the reduced acidity. Besides, I’ve always liked iced coffee, so I don’t have to water down hot coffee with a handful of ice cubes, but can have a hot cup when desired by simply using the microwave for a few seconds. I made my first pot yesterday afternoon so it would be ready this morning (approximately 16 hours), and am really impressed with how easy it was and how great it tastes. I’d read what seemed like a credible review, and this particular coffee maker was highly rated despite how affordable it is – so I purchased two of them so I’d always have a pot on hand in the refrigerator. Besides the user-friendly design of the unit’s components, the shape of the carafe makes it easy to fit in the refrigerator without taking up much space. I also like the fact that it’s made from Eastman’s Tritan plastic, as we have a countertop distiller that uses this material for its carafe and I’ve found it to be really durable while not incorporating any of the chemical compounds that have been found to be harmful. I don’t know how durable it will turn out to be, but my current impression is that I’ll definitely get my money’s worth and then some with just a little care on my part.”

Customer Review: “So easy to use that my husband makes his own coffee with it! My husband was having trouble with stomach aches after his gallons of coffee each day. We were told that cold brew coffee can be less acidic and hoped that it would help his stomach issues. You literally grind the coffee and put it in the center filter and fill up the container with water then set it in the fridge and walk away until the next day. Technically I think the instructions said 12 hours, but we fill it, toss it in the fridge and forget about it until the next day. Coffee tastes great and is ready to pour the next day. The husband nukes his cup in the microwave to get it hot and fills his travel mug. I’m not sure that it helps much with the stomach issue, but the hubs likes it and it makes a good cold coffee for me so win – win in my books!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Works as advertised. It’s so easy to use. I just scoop 8 scoops (1/4 cup) of coffee in the filter and then add water almost to the top. Then I put in the fridge for roughly 24 hours, remove the filter, and I’ve got delicious cold brew for the next 3 days, unless my wife gets into it 😉 One thing I’ll note… the filter is really easy to clean. I thought it might be a pain to get all the coffee grinds out but it isn’t. It just takes a couple of minutes. I didn’t even need the brush that comes with it. I love this thing so much I ordered a second, that way I have a nice rotation and never run out of cold brew! Edit: one thing I’ll add is when you use this (or any cold brew coffee maker with this type of design), make SURE the top is properly screwed on all the way. This evening I was putting it in my fridge and because it wasn’t screwed on properly, the top came off. Fortunately it happened as I was setting it down so no issue but it could have been a disaster.”

Customer Review: “I put a 5 star review and they rejected it. It was nothing but praises for this product. I bought 2 of them. I used Maxwell house French roast dark coffee. NO coffee grounds went in my cold brew which is fantastic! I put 1 1/4 cup, way too much. Tasted good but a bit strong. I used 1 cup of coffee and placed it over night in the fridge 24 hrs and it was just right. I would recommend this product. The glass bottle feels heavy just hold it from the handle and the bottom of the glass when it’s full. Make sure the lid is on correctly so it doesn’t leak. Great value and saves me $. One review said the seal comes off. It does, it goes back on no problem. Ive had NO leakage if lid is on properly.”

Complete Buying Guide for Fast Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting a fast cold brew coffee maker, consider factors like brewing time, capacity, ease of cleaning, and material quality. Look for models that offer adjustable strength settings to tailor your coffee, and check if the brewer uses filters that are easy to maintain. Portability and power source are important if you plan to use it outside the home. Also, think about whether you want a glass, stainless steel, or plastic design based on durability and aesthetics.

Budget Planning

Fast cold brew coffee makers range from affordable manual pitchers to pricier electric models. Manual brewers with simple mesh filters are budget-friendly but often require longer steep times. Electric brewers accelerate brewing but come at a higher price. Decide what features are essential to you and balance cost with convenience and durability to find the best value for your needs.

Final Thoughts

Investing in a fast cold brew coffee maker can transform your coffee routine by delivering smooth, delicious cold brew in a fraction of the traditional time. Whether you prefer the simplicity of a glass pitcher or the speed of an electric brewer, prioritizing your brewing preferences and lifestyle will help you pick the perfect device. Enjoy fresh cold brew anytime without the wait!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are fast cold brew coffee makers easy to clean?

Q: Do electric fast cold brew coffee makers need a power outlet?

A: Most electric models require a power outlet, but some portable versions come with rechargeable batteries for cordless use.

Q: Can I brew hot coffee with fast cold brew coffee makers?
